I always get a laugh out of kids who throw in the "HALF" when they give their age.

When Phyllis was giggling before giving the clue for "Award" I was close to 100% sure she would say the obvious clue (at least in 2022… Back then I'm not sure if they called it "The Academy Awards" as a general rule (as regards the name of the show) but obviously, I would have said "Academyyyyyy...."

I’m not sure her partner would have gotten it even if she had said acadeMEE with a rising tone. She gave some excellent clues and he rarely picked up on them😐

Tabloid and headline would be good clues for sensational.

1:50 Jack Carter talks about an episode of "Dr Kildare" that he is about to shoot. Ironically, I just happened to have watched that episode last week. Same Jack Carter shtick, different venue. Not one of the better 'Kildare' episodes.

The same words over and over again. Can't believe they had an English PH.D. on the program.

Obviously probably to naughty for 1962 (and possibly not even a colloquial term that had hit the vernacular, as of yet) but at 12:41 , Carter could have said "Morning...." (LOL!!)

20:33 He didn't look very impressed with himself, did he? Goodson-Todman should have tossed in a hundred bucks for the girl's school library. What cheapskates!

Well, shoot, now it's working on this one but the one I tried watching today, Joan Crawford and Barry Nelson is out of sync. Oh, by out of sync the sound is not in sync with the film, I guess is what I'm trying to say. *scratches head* I'll try the Joan Crawford and Barry Nelson episode one more time to see if it may be my KZread settings! All the other ones you've posted before this have been perfect! I'll let you know if it may be my settings!

The lack of diversity in the program and the audience is hard to ignore. I hope they got more inclusive in later years.

They've had black contestants before. Don't know how much more inclusive they need to be. This is 1962 not the 2000s.

And black celebrities. Diahann Carroll was in an early episode I just watched. Not frequent, you are right, but there was representation at a time when some Southern TV stations refused to air shows with black characters as anything other than domestics or criminals. Also refused to air variety shows with black and white performers singing duets, for example.
