The system is built into a trap. What they are doing should be illegal! I bet they taken so many of hard earned dollars from small business just because they weren't able to hire actually a good accountant. How do you even know which accountant is good?

I am retired but still have an Rental equipment S-Corp. I use the management services of another company which I also own with other share holders to run and operate my Rental S-Corp. I don’t take any w2, but take disbursements from the S-Corp as K1 disbursements. is this correct?

@Mark Question on VETERAN property tax exclusion: In CA Disabled Veteran Prop. Tax can be a large exclusion $200K+ , Do I still keep the exclusion if the Trust owns the property? What about if my LLC owns the property?

Dividends are the true passive income here, all of the others are less than passive and all of the others require some form of work where as dividend stocks require you to only buy a stock and wait.

As someone who's just started doing taxes on my crypto holdings (going ten years back and including thousands of trades) I've found myself desperate for guidance and good advice for minimizing CGT. I've used aggressive loss harvesting, to seemingly great effect (according to various online tax calculators), and yet you are the first qualified KZreadr I've heard talk about it. Regardless I will likely be facing a significant tax burden as a result of not educating myself on these things sooner; my high-priced CPA firm seems all but clueless when it comes to cryptocurrency. I think your examples and explanations are absolutely great! I really just want to say THANK YOU for helping me to understand all the things I wish I'd known sooner! You've earned my subscription and don't be surprised if you see me asking you questions directly in the near future.

Hmm, so if I'm flipping and renting, I'm guessing I need to separate those two activities and put the flipping in an S-Corp LLC, or does flipping not qualify for any passive income (both in OK)?

When you take a W2 salary + a draw from your s-corp, how do you determine the ratio allocated to each? And are there any drawbacks of minimizing your salary to reduce the tax burden?

One drawback of salary minimization is that you cannot contribute as much to tax-advantaged retirement accounts with a lower W-2 salary. (My understanding is that it still makes sense in most cases despite this).

Can I send my personal crypto to my business as a start up cost / use for business purchases then use deduction to lower my tax burden to avoid personal capital gain tax?

when you put youtube and fix and flip on the left I was like this seems like it's not passive. probably for a different reason. but to me you actually have to be doing work for those to make money. where the other side is kinda like put money there and get more money out.

To my overstanding, as for crypto mining, if it's decentralized crypto, like Bitcoin, can't be taxed until you cash it out, because it's not in there jurisdiction to tax... They can only tax the portion that intertwines with a state currency...

Mark, if I have a software consulting business (S Corp), can I put in my stock trading income in that same S Corp? I thought IRS did not like having multiple businesses (different SIC code) under one S Corp. I am specifically referring to what you said about various 1099s from different activities going in to same S Corp. very new to all this and trying to understand from your helpful videos.
