They are not worth what people are asking now, but I’ve expanded my rhythm section with an RD-9, a Drumlouge, and Roland SH-4D. I already had the DR-880 the DR-770 a Yamaha multi 12, and an Integra 7, also Kontact 14 Collectors. The point is, with all that I still use the POs! They work excellent as oscillators that can be shaped and filtered with my Eurorack, semi-Modular’s, and AUM. So if anyone else is in the same situation, don’t spend a stupid amount of money to complete the collection! I know you’re probably thinking damn, you spent a ridiculous amount of money on yours! Exactly! Honestly I can shape the Factory into any sounding want. Please learn from my mistakes! If you want to build a home studio and you have one PO, learn to shape that! I still keep my eye out, in pawn shops and stuff, but don’t pay these ridiculous prices, and I suggest you don’t sell them either! I saw a Rick and Morty on Reverb for $575! Use them enjoy them! I do use some of the internal punch in effects on both. Some retrigs, the sweep filter on the PO-20 and on the robot, when I change instruments, I actually add in a filter (that's also included) to smooth out a bit the harshness of the whiny lead. But no external pedals or effects no.

Awesome work there Sir! May I ask how you connected the machines to your computer and recorded this?

Sure thing, forthis video specifically, I used a simple male/male headphones jack that I put in the Aux in of my PC integrated soundcard. But nowadays, I use a pretty good (for my taste) cheap behringer xenyx USB mixer. It's absolutely all I ever needed for recording simple shit at home.

Out these two PO's which one would be the best one to get as a first, most bang for your buck?

I would recommend the arcade it was the first one I got and was much easier to learn and has a working drum kit and bass in one

i'd recommend robot for soloing
play some martin galway!
WOW! This sounds so good! But what about the scale? Is it not possible to play whatever one wants?
@PepekBezlepek

it is not, the ROBOT only uses white keys from the piano, and here is the list of chords the ARCADE can play - www.teenageengineering.com/guides/po-20/en

strange. the robot solo sounds good but i wonder if it is kind of a 1 trick pony. i imagine it isnt something i could use on every track, would be too similar.

@@jevogroni4829 robot has 15 different sounds and a drum kit and sequencer. Its main purpose is impromptu lead voice live play. But it can be a drum machine or backround music sequencer as well.
No se que juego sea pero lo quiero jugar!!
so what's better to get first? robot or arcade?

Robot

I'd say Arcade. It's the most verstaile. You can make full songs wit it alone. The Robot is a leader, you create fantastic solos and leads, but the rythmic section is a joke.
Great Lead Soung, did you need to modify a lot of PO28 presets?

Thanks, it's a stock sound (the one with the little wrench drawing), no edits.
great video! what scale is the PO28 in? can u play half tones?
@Miniclash

You can't. And that sucks. It's some kind of Am chromatic scale (I think it's called). Thanks for the nice words :)

I know I'm a bit late to the party here, but it looks like it's in A Harmonic Minor. That is, A minor with an added g#

Absolutely, there's some live elements, but it is mostly pre-planned.
Did you use any effects on the po’s?

He does on the PO-20 Arcade at 8:47 and several times until the end.

I do use some of the internal punch in effects on both. Some retrigs, the sweep filter on the PO-20 and on the robot, when I change instruments, I actually add in a filter (that's also included) to smooth out a bit the harshness of the whiny lead. But no external pedals or effects no.
You should be able to 100X shit like this!
