Yeah, I recently went up to Santa Cruz for thanksgiving break and we went up to the Henry Cowell redwoods. Picture this: it’s a brisk November morning. Your breath is making clouds in the air as you’re entering the woods. Then up the hills, you can hear the faint, almost ghostly whistle of the narrow-gauge Shay locomotive making its passenger run up the mountain.

Funny thing if you pause exactly at 3:56 it’s the thumbnail to the very first Steam Trains Galore. Just realized that lol.

I love all trains and love trains galore as I love the sounds of trains and as a 8 and 9 year old I hung around trains and got on the tracks waiting for trains to pull in which was not safe but now I just watch them on line and trains sound cool ! Do not worry I do not track the trains I see as I am a full fledge adult !

Nice catches especially the F40 and P42 at the end And the infamous D&S :)

Amtrak moment 15:49 thats a fast train 16:09 see a genesis pulling a amtrak california train is rare 21:28 the best take of the video 23:18 thats a rare coast starlight! 23:57 my favorite take of the coast starlight in santa barbara 24:08 thats more rare!!! 24:45 omg is looooong 25:25 where is the baggage car? 27:50 thats creepy (my opinion) 28:24 that is a great meet 28:54 that is the train sound of the intros of your videos 29:13 thats is very cooool!! Lesson: How to build Amtrak's Exhibit Train (San Diego) Step 1: Wait until the sky gets darker. Step 2: Uncouple your train and make your way to the "SD" siding. Step 3: Line the switch to the closer platform. Step 4: Reverse to your (current) closer platform. Step 5: Uncouple the NPCU unit. Step 6: Stop the train and line the switch to the train at the "SD" siding via the CP-Ash signal. Step 7: Reverse Amtrak P40DC #822 to the train (San Diego Trolley passes by). Step 8: Couple the train and move it on to the San Diego siding via CP-Ash. Step 9: Line the switch to the NPCU (Nonpowered Control Unit). Step 10: Reverse the train to the rear NPCU. Step 11: The setup is complete, and the Amtrak Exhibit Train is ready to depart San Diego. Enjoy the ride. All aboard!
