I have always enjoyed watching the traditional process of boat building in Indonesia and have a deep admiration and respect for the many skillful shipwrights still practising the old but proven construction methods. So I hope you can understand why I felt sad that manmade foam-like material (yellow in colour) is employed instead of gelam bark. These foam surely will disintegrate very fast. I felt what a waste of enterprise when so much is invested in building a boat of such grand proportion. I really feel sad. A seriously wrong choice of material to use, if you should excuse me for saying so. All the valuable wood from the priceless trees that goes into this venture deserves better. Sad.
