I hardly comment but have always loved your content Emma. Just wanted to say total respect to you for being open and saying ‘I don’t need all this sparkle but, here we are guys…not that I’m going to be owning this stuff.’ At 43 now, and being a person who loves clothes and style, I am over trying to force myself to buy into trends for Xmas. But always feel a little twinge…need to stay strong. Black M&S cashmere jumper and leather trousers for me for the 4th year in a row!! You’ve properly taken one for the team trying all this on though. The itchy fabric thing!! Totally get it. 😖 You rocked the velvet suit and M&S dress at the end Emma. They’d be my choices too. I would just rewatch last years video because it wouldn’t be any different aside from me reinforcing the message that I don’t go to parties and don’t wear party wear 🙈

The H&M modest black dress with the open back is really elegant!! That's definitely my favorite, then 2nd the last M&S dress is really pretty.

My favorite outfit has to be the Black Velvet Blazer, Black Velvet Waistcoat, & Black Velvet Trousers.

The velvet pansuit was the EASY WINNER...and then the floofy H&M dress came in second. Thanks for this try-on haul!

I clicked because I saw sequins, and I was SHOCKED to see you in sequins! But saaaame, my holiday parties are not at all fancy, and I'm thankful for that.

You gave great descriptions of how things felt. I am really sensitive to scratchy and itchy fabrics and you clarified which of those outfits were just that.

I dress up maybe twice a year. As always such an enjoyable video and it’s really nice to see that there are others who live a very casual life too.

Oooh I’m with you on all the different textures and dangles. Loved the last dress and the velvet suit they were stunning. I’ve been on the fence about getting a satin skirt, the silver one did look very good but yes I think I would go for a darker colour. Thank you so much for such a fun video!😊

I actually love a satin skirt, I have 3, but I just don’t wear them in a fancy way. I usually pair with a chunky knit and trainers or boots. I’ll only wear that when it’s warm enough though 🙊

Velvet suit was the best 💕

My favourites were the velvet suit and grey dress at the end. Everything looked gorgeous on you but the velvet suit and grey dress looked the most classy and expensive looking. I loved that you sized up, you could’ve worn a size smaller in nearly everything but sizing up makes everyone look skinnier. Most people don’t know that, they squeeze into the smaller size and it makes them look larger. You’re beautiful, thank you for the outfit ideas!

I would choose the velvet suit 🎉

I loved the dress that was knee length (the one you would have preferred shorter or longer). And I thought the velvet suit was perfect for you. I must say that you wore all the outfits well. You have the perfect figure and clothes drape on you beautifully. This was such a fun video. Thanks for going outside your comfort zone and giving us a glimpse of party options in the UK.

Hi Emma, firstly, I love your hair, it looks gorgeous❤❤❤ I hate dressing up at Christmas. I get really stressed. Guaranteed my work colleagues will be dressed up in sequins at the works do. My fave outfit is the velvet waistcoat and trousers with the blazer. I would defo wear that, partly because I would be just the right temperature and I would feel comfy. The video was fun. And the velvet suit is the fantastic. I have a very old black velvet blazer and it is so versatile.

Lovely try-on, velvet being my favourite holiday textile--but, the minute I saw the sequins mini outfit, I thought (loudly) "vintage Emma"!🧡

Definitely the velvet suit was the more you, but I like the look of the gold sequin dress too. I don't have any occasion either but I enjoy your videos. I always think that sparkly outfits would be itchy.

I enjoyed this video. I am with you so many sparkly tops are synthetic and itchy. I was able to find a thrifted 70 % silk silver sparkly tank . For new years I paired it with a white silk blazer and black satin trousers . More my style than a sparkly dress… my sister did not like the outfit and didn’t think it was new years enough but I disagreed it was my style and made me happy 😊

I would never wear it, I just don’t have the lifestyle that requires a velvet suit. I wouldn’t wear it casually so it would be a waste x

The winner by MILES is definitely the velvet 3 piece suit. 2nd place for me would be the satin skirt and blazer combo. Definitely the velvet suit! Looks awesome and yes, especially with the strappy sandals with the, cannot believe I do really write this, strass on it... 😏But also the M&S dress is really elegant and wearable outfit! I also love the black sequin dress but yes, the lenght is not the perfect, would like it longer as a midi version. Many thanks that you have left your comfort zone and show us these outfits with so much fun! Really enjoyed this journey looking forward to a very cozy christmas time here as well. 😄
