Well my dear hubby walked thru the room while I was viewing and guess what? I will be stitching the Long Dog Bunny Castle chart in the near future. 😂😂😂
One of the most important responsibilities of parents is to embarrass their children. Good job, Jason!
Thank you for the joy and laughter you share. It's the duty and responsibility for a parent to periodically embarrass their child, especially a teenager. Although NJ has no National Parks, we do have 12 National Park Sites that range from natural settings to historically related sites. However, the Appalachian Trail does come through NJ so we can claim it. July affords me the opportunity to get organized and get moving on the ornaments I make for all of the children in our family. This year it means 19 need to be done by the end of November if they will be gifted this Christmas. Please keep doing Floss Tubes together. It's wonderful to hear your laughter!
When Jason said "leave me alone" I spit water on my keyboard :D
I think Siege on Bunny Castle is fantastic!! 😂
50 STATES SUGGESTION: Hey Steph and Jason, we too hope to go to all 50 states... We have a US map with stickers.... WE, hubby and I, have to attain a certain worthy goal ;) so we can "earn" that state sticker on the map. Yes, we are recent empty nesters and kicking up our heels. My grandfather also had his own garage complete with a huge ditch in the ground with stairs to get under cars - completely illegal now. He was a great mechanic and I remember those same red shop rags and can still smell them too. WEAR 'dem hats! hugs from the sunny and hot southwest state of Arizona.
It is such fun to watch your floss tube! I was “forced” as a child to visit many national parks and my favorite will always be Yosemite Valley in the spring or fall. However the Redwood forest in Northern California is a one of a kind experience and truly awe inspiring. Lake Tahoe is always worth a trip too even if it’s not a designated national park but it is in a national forest!
This is my first time ever seeing one of our videos. I love your energy and how humorous you are!
Boy if you watch this back, you will have so much material for new designs.
So now I am obsessed with siege of bunny castle…
I heart you two. Super excited for Midsummer stitch! Loved hearing about your fabulous trip. My cousin and her now husband used to work at Capitol Reef and got married there 2 years ago. We went (all the way from NY!) and it was such an amazing experience with our kids. So wonderful to have that special time with your family.
I find I get overwhelmed if I over book myself for challenges/ themes/etc… so no Christmas in July for me. Steph- I really believe that you are my spirit animal. I can relate to the overthinking and cough syrup projects.

True story: One time Steph was standing in front of something at Walmart overthinking something and our then 7 year old daughter, just stuck something in the cart and said, Okay. Let's go. And Steph was like, Okay.
You are not sick! nor need help! You and Jason are so entertaining and Jason should wear that hat all the time!! And you are right Jason as you age you care less about what people think of you! If your son is a teenager embarrassment of parents is part of the package. Thank you both for all you do and Steph Pride and Prejudice will be great! Go west young man! ( enjoy all the National Parks)!
lol oh Jason. “Leave me alone!”
The cream of the crop is Yosemite. I’ve been lots of places and the most awesome is Yosemite. When you go make sure you stop after the tunnel and take a picture. Also eat a special meal at the the Ahwahnee hotel restaurant. It is so majestic. You can also hike up half dome. The view is amazing. The valley is so easy to walk. I’m rambling, well you asked.
Love your video! You both kept me laughing throughout. My husband and I also enjoy National Parks. We did a trip to Seattle area many years ago and visited the Olympic National Park and Mt Rainier! There are some lovely bed and breakfasts you can stay at. While you are there you can visit the Space Needle in Seattle. We also took a ferry across into Victoria Canada to see the Buchart Gardens which is stunning! This was a fun trip for sure. I would love to go back. I will definitely be trying out some of your new fabric line! Thanks for the fun video.
Hanging on every word and stitch 🧵🪡👍🙏🌻
I’m sitting here, all alone, late at night, organizing my weeks dye works floss and you popped up on my IPAD and I had to watch. Started giggling and can’t stop! You weren’t too far from me in Western Colorado 😮. The hats prove you both had a wonderful time.I still take extreme joy in embarrassing my grown children when ever I can. Our middle daughter calls me a nerd ◡̈ . Wish I could join you with your mid summer stitching event but I’ll be in the middle of a wonderful cruise to Alaska … with my cross stitch right beside me. Thanks for the inspiration, adding to my wants list and alllll the giggles.

Actually I don’t stitch Christmas in July specifically but whenever it strikes my fancy 🪡❤️😊 🌲. I’m stitch what you want when you want camper!

Stephanie, let's be real, my lunch costs more than $8.00! This is a very manageable amount. Genius!!
I don't stitch Christmas in July-- "whatever I want" is my stitching mantra 🤣
You can always tell your kids what I told mine when they were growing up and were so embarrassed by me. I said that they needed something to tell their therapist about when they’re older. It builds character 😅.
Shenandoah National Park in Virginia is beautiful and I highly recommend it. Close enough to DC to get some museums in, too. Loved seeing both of you and your sense of humor. Keep embarrassing the kids. I'm over 50 and can still remember the horror of my parents taking me to an ice cream shop and ordering a glass of soda with 2 straws and drinking at the same time. At the time I was horrified but now it's a great memory😊
I never realized the good news involved bunnies waging war!
You are not too far away, (driving distance) from us! Tennessee is an awesome place to visit in the smokey mountains and a national park! Waterfalls, hiking and so much to see. Definitely a must see.
A weekend trip to Mammoth Cave in central Kentucky is worth it! You can say you’ve been in the longest cave system in the world.
Grandpa Joe and Meemaw, great Flosstube. And apparently I need to stitch a Long Dog Sampler about bunnypocalypse.
Hello Steph and Jason, Y'all are so darn entertaining!!
I have a piece of Grandpa's Shop Rag, that I bought because of my dad and helping him in the garage.
Oh my gosh, y’all had me in stitches. Love the hats, and in the sun in North Carolina, we always have to wear a wide brim hat. Congratulations to your daughter. And come on over to Piscah national Forest in NC. We have lots of beautiful trails, Biltmore estate, and lots of wonderful places to visit in NC. 😀
The best part…you didn’t edit out ‘remember to get your dogs and cats spayed or neutered’ 🤣🤣🤣 if there are awards for flosstube videos I think this will be a strong contender for a Frank (that’s a flosstube Emmy) 🦩 I live 30 minutes from one of the most beautiful Nat’l Parks, Rocky Mountain National Park. You will love it as well as your stroll through Estes Park Main Street for so many culinary delights. Such Bob and Tony’s pizza, The Bird’s Nest pastries and panini, You Need Pie Diner 😂 it’s real. And The Taffy Shop. The taffy is being made in the front window. Hugs from Colorado, Kate.
You two are such fun to watch! My husband and I also loved visiting the National Parks in Utah. I have not stitched Christmas in July previously, but now I'm inspired to start on the Satsuma Street Calling Birds kit. Thanks for all you are doing to bring cross-stitchers together virtually.
Sequoia national park is amazing!
I lived in Kansas for many years. Raised my kids on a farm in Kansas. We were a 45 minute drive from Kansas City.
We go mid July but you need to go out and stay for a couple weeks to really enjoy each park. It’s so much fun
I am totally doing Christmas in July. Last year I watched Hallmark Christmas movies while I stitched - love it 🎄🎄🎄
No Christmas in July for me. Love your conversion for all creatures! Fun flosstube😊
Bought my ticket and can’t wait! ❤
I have the mutated cold right now. I totally agree with you, this one is really bad! I plan to stitch Christmas in July, if I can muster up the strength to pick up a needle. The Ultimate National Park Road Trip. That trip is on my bucket list. My husband and I will stop at any National Park in the vicinity of where we’re traveling. We love them. We have beautiful parks here. I hope y’all get a chance to see more of them!
Strawberry Dream is too cute!!!
Have you kitted up The Siege of Bunny Castle with Grandpa’s Shop Rag yet? If not, what are you waiting for? Yes, you should continue down the Hello from Liz Mathews and Prairie Schooler road. When you first mentioned your idea on your flosstube I knew it would be a winner. Your finish is perfect, especially with the spectacular foreground/background perspective.
Utah is great. We go to Moab every 2 years for a couple weeks so my husband can off-road with our grandson. I sit in my condo and stitch or sew. It’s a great place to go b
This flosstube was amazing! So funny! Not into stitching Christmas in July yet….
I would recommend the following national parks: Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Grand Canyon, Volcanos, Haleakala, Pearl Harbor, and one closer to you, the Gateway Arch (with a tour of the hometown brew). Also, I would recommend getting a National Park Pass.
Love you guys! Fun and inspiring! Loved your National Parks segment.
Your Huckleberry Farm is gorgeous! I’m hoping to join in the Midsummer Stitch fun, thanks for hosting.
I've been wanting Huckleberry Farm every time I see it. Because of you I ordered IT AND the fabric you stitched it on!!!!
This summer I am only stitching Christmas and patriotic. That's a first for me. When I was 9 or 10 my family took a big trip out west (we're from Pennsylvania). We visited Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Mesa Verde, Yosemite, and Sequoia. I enjoyed and remember the Grand Canyon and the giant redwoods the most.
I don’t particularly do Christmas in July - stitch Christmas whenever I want to 😊
Excited to join Midsummer Stitch! Looking forward to meeting some stitchy friends. I stitch Christmas in July. I enjoy it as it gets me focused on projects and maybe finish something for the season.
Wow - love all your stitches and especially the Hello From Liz Mathews Pumpkin House Mash up ! So cool, Stephanie!
I don't stitch Christmas in July, I just stitch what I want when I want. I have been the book of the 12 days of Christmas stockings.
Ooh signed up for Midsummer Stitch! So excited because Jingle Ball is always during an annual vacation that we do with friends. 😊. Yes I’m stitching Christmas in July. I’m going to focus on Prairie Schooler Santa’s House, and also plan to touch all of my 16(!) Christmas WIPs. Thanks for sharing your stitching and be well!
I don't stitch Christmas in July, I just have monthly rotations on all of my projects until they are done. If I was going to go to all the National Parks, I would get one of the passport books they have and get them stamped. I am a collector at heart and that would make it more of a fun game! Have fun and enjoy your travels!
Please teach Jason to cross stitch so he can stich The Siege of Bunny Castle 😂
Beautiful stitching as usual Lindsey
I am doing Christmas in July for the first time. I chose Retro Reindeer to start with. I like it so far which surprises me because ai generally don’t join things. I like eclectic things. You both are awesome. Thank you for all you do for us.
Fun video. Did you know there is a National Lakeshore (under the National Park System) in far Northern Wisconsin? the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is beautiful, rarely crowded, and a Great Lakes treasure. Avoid June (black fly season, and still quite cool) but be sure to take a cruise past the sea caves, stay in one of the inns in Bayfield, or even go camping on one of the Islands if that's your thing. Enjoyable right up through fall when they have Applefest. We kept a boat there for many years, and still go back occasionally now that we live in lower MIchigan. And on your drive up you will go through the Chequamegon National Forest, where Starman (when Jeff Bridges was a young stud) crashed, though they sadly mispronounced the name. lol. Thanks again for a great video. P.S. if your husband wants to look less like Grampa and more like Mr. Adventure Man, he needs to get a Tilley hat. Better brims lol.
Jason is a genius with his choice of unusual Long Dog Samplers! They are different from what I think of when I think of Long Dog. Love at first sight has all those spiky triangles and not the usual 55:03 circles and squares. Edge of Darkness has the unexpected colors. And I think we can all agree that Bunny Castle is unexpected and amazing! Long Dog should hire him for PR.

LOL! Hey Steph! I'm moving to England!
Love watching u and Jason. You both where killing me over here!😂😂😂😂
Fun to watch flosstube! I'm not a Christmas in July stitcher. My favorite National Park is Yosemite National Park. It'ls beautiful, but very crowded in the summer.
Your videos just make my heart happy ❤ I have a Christmas in July project picked out but I, like you, have a WIP that I promised myself I would finish before anything else ☹️
Canada of course has lots of national parks.. We are going to Sandbanks provincial park this summer. Three of the kids and their significant others all meet up there and enjoy the beach and trails. I consider it to be my close to home Florida...lol
Ok. I think Grandpa’s shop-rag would look cool with an old 1940’s pick up truck in black on it.
I love stitching Xmas at any time of year and it would be great to stitch Annie’s stockings in July.
Long Dog stories are fun! Patterns are involved and long term for me. I do stitch Christmas in July most years. It gives me a leg up for holiday stuff. Cuyahoga National Park is surprise here in the Cleveland Ohio area. Thanks for the laughs and fun attitudes.
Texas has Big Bend National Park which is beautiful and in Fort Davis is the McDonald Observatory. Being in a dryer climate, the stars are beautiful. I like Christmas in July but I’m not always successful. It’s nice to have some Christmas stuff stitched before the holidays get so hectic. I love y’all laughing! Have a great week.
Ok you might not believe it you need to ask her but the blue flower Jeanine is going to stitch the one with the bunny riding the hound of war! she showed that on her last floss tube. I promise you! 😂😂😂😂
Please make more videos more often. I enjoy seeing you and Jason and your stitching. These National Parks are not near me but are musts, Denali and Glacier Bay in Alaska, and Acadia in Maine. Pictures don't do them justice. Congratulations to your daughter 👏

We are definitely doing Denali sometime. I've already looked into flights just to see what we're talking about. I so want to go to Alaska!
I was thinking calamity Jane!!! You two were cracking me up. Thanks for the laughs. 😂. I do Jolly July for ornaments as gifts. It’s fun to do. This will be my second year participating. Your stitching is amazing, thanks for sharing it all.
Hello Stephanie! Yes, I always start my Christmas Project in June or July so I will enjoy it come Christmas Season, there's nothing compares, when you have something hanging on your wall to celebrate the season....😘🤗
July always gets me thinking about Christmas ornaments. I might not start stitching but I am looking at possibilities.
I loved this video. My husband and I could SO relate to embarrassing our children 🤣 Bryce Canyon is one of my all time favorite trips! Loved hearing your stories! For National Parks we love Yellowstone (have been there a couple of times), Glacier is amazing, and I spent a summer working in Katmai up in Alaska which was awesome! Love all of these! As a new immigrant to Canada, we are now trying to get to all the National Parks up here - we've loved our trips to Banff, Yoho, and Jasper. And now we live near the Great Bear Rainforest - which I can't wait to see! Looking forward to more of your videos! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed Utah. My home state. We have amazing National Parks and State Parks. You crushed that many parks in 5 days! The fall is the best time to visit Southern Utah. We have had a very hot June! I stitch Christmas year round. Thanks for the fun video!
I have never done Christmas in July but this might be the year I do something Christmas!! You two are the best together!! You made my day and the southwest is pretty amazing. You see something different every time you take a drive!!
I love the Grandpa’s rag fabric. I think it would also look great stitched with white. One of the new monochromatic Works by ABC released at Market would look great on it! Christmas in July stitching is happening! I have 10 ornaments for nieces/nephews to do.
Christmas is more than July when you’re working on a stocking.
Your mashup piece is FABULOUS!!!
I keep missing the Jingle Ball, so I was so excited about the Midsummer event. It’s the same weekend as the StitchNJ (what used to be the Flosstube) retreat. Boo! I refuse to miss the Jingle Ball this year!
So good to see you both! Steph, bravo on your mash-up finish - it turned out perfectly. I also loved seeing your progress on the Gera piece - it's looking so good. It sounds like your trip was so much fun, hats and all 😆 I can't wait for Midsummer Stitch! Hope you guys are staying cool this summer 💜
Does this look like guilt?! No! Does that look like a deer? I can’t lie! It’s yellow. He’s a wine and cheese fellow! Why are you looking at me?! Because you’re talking! You and Jason are hilarious and so much fun to watch. Love the Mill Hill Ugly Sweater! The Seige of Bunny Castle! Grandpa Joe & MeMaw! 😀 I have Jan Hicks Vintage Christmas Alphabet patterns. July would be a great time to start working on them.
You both are hilarious!! Glad you had an amazing vacation. I live on the east coast and visited Utah some years ago. It’s absolutely beautiful. We went to Bryce Canyon. We walked through the Virgin River. Amazing. We also went to Kanab to see Best Friends animal sanctuary, a must visit for any animal lover. Yes, Spay and Neuter your pets!! 😊
Midsummer Stitch sounds awesome….speed dating is great fun…your husband is a great date. Always fun to watch your videos…I hope you have a healthy summer. Yes I do Christmas in July and have just posted my first version of how to fully finish as a shaped pillow…I am stitching the mini stockings three times this summer. 🦉🌞
Love watching you guys and I’ve already gone for some DRIFTWOOD!
Midsummer Stitch sounds like so much fun! Always love to sit and stitch with you. Your trip sounds amazing! We are heading to Yellowstone in just about a week. I actually used to live in Bozeman, MT so I have been there many times, but my kids don’t remember it, and the rest of the family has never been. We live in NY now, so no National Parks, but we have some great state park. Letchworth in the fall is absolutely spectacular. Hope you can see it sometime! I do plan on doing some Christmas in July this year. I am debating between SWTH Candy Cane Lane and the new Believe in the Magic. I also have Tiny Modernist’s Yule Goddess kitted up. Happy Stitching!
I can’t wait to see Jason’s stitching progress on The Siege of Bunny Castle. 🪡 xxx
Your moth on persimmon is looking beautiful! You got me...had to get some! Thanks for the tip with silk white floss...haven't tried silk yet. I'm a seasonal stitcher, so have trouble with Christmas in July, but regret it at Christmas! Living in New England, one can drive through 5 states in 6 hours...not so out west for sure. Acadia in Maine is lovely in the fall...but hard to pick a favorite. I loved Bryce, Glacier up into the Canadian Rockies Banff & Lake Louise...but the Grand Canyon is a must see! So glad you had fun!!
Thanks for another entertaining Flosstube! National Parks are the BEST!! We started visiting them during the 2020 COVID lockdown, Acadia in Maine is beautiful, Shenandoah in Virginia, Great Smoky Mountains, and of course Grand Canyon! Earlier this year I drove cross country with my son and am planning Grand Teton and Yellowstone visits! This is first year for Christmas in July stitching for me. My sister and I will be starting Christmas Rose by Blackbird designs; we’ll see how it goes!
I stitch Christmas year round so I will definitely be stitching Christmas in July! I bought my ticket for Midsummer Stitch and am looking forward to it!
My husband and I are National Park nerds. Some of my favorite parks are Glacier, Yosemite, and Yellowstone. We’ve done a lot of west coast parks. We just got back from Colorado.
Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Redwoods the list goes on and on.
Glad you are both feeling better now! And, as always, love seeing you and Jason together on the video. I think he should stich up the Long Dog Sampler "Bunny Siege" pattern himself, so we can all see how great it looks in real life! I haven't stitched Christmas in July before, but there are a lot of flosstube videos showing awesome Christmas patterns, so I may do it this year.
Great video! Nice to see you guys again! So happy you had a great vacation! Glad you are feeling better!
I stitch what appeals to me at the time. I probably don't stitch Christmas in July.
Yes I love Christmas stitching so when I can get a head start with Christmas in July stitching it makes me really happy 🎄
I usually ignore Christmas in July. I guess I’m just too busy with summer.
I stitch Christmas all year long but this year is the first year I have planned out Christmas in July. My plans include making progress on my daughters stocking and starting 2 new Projects, Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow and Thomas Kinkade's The Nativity by HAED. I love all the fabrics you've shown. They are beautiful! I have a herd of purple/brown deer who visit my yard every night, lol. I love killer bunnies, I hadn't seen that one, it might have to come home to me. Can't wait for Midsummer Stitch. Just bought my ticket. It'll be my first stitchy event ever. I don't know about any in Missouri, but I enjoyed the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and Yosemite when I went. And I think we should all wear the hat.
You two make me laugh so much!!!!!
Grandpas shop rag would be cool as a 3d pumpkin with stitched designs on it
I look forward to watching your videos, knowing there will be plenty of jocularity. And you never disappoint! Christmas stitching is year around for me, whenever the mood strikes.

We are very joculous! We always say, if you can't be an athlete be an athletic supporter!
I always intend to do Christmas in July but I'm not always successful. I love the idea and I'm extremely pleased with what I manage to get done.
I enjoy your videos so much! Jason and you are the cutest couple ever! You so complement each other! Y’all are like peanut butter and jelly! Hehe! Thinking of purple, our deers are Brown! Just brown Hehe! I do plan on stitching Christmas in July! I have to or I won’t be done by Christmas! Bahahaha!
