I read from somewhere that the team responsible for character design received complaints that the Lich's design was too 'disturbing', that's why they decided to put him in Billy's body, which, in my opinion, is even more disturbing. There were no more living beings, no messages from Golb, no more insight on what to do next. After hours, days, months and years passed in that world he finally faced the reality, his mission was done and only the emptiness remained.

I find it hard to feel the impact of his words, not because his speech was lacks power, not because his figure lacks presence, but because I know who he is. He is a lonely devoted follower of a cause he blindly follows. He is a primordial bound by the qualities that make a human feel true life. He is just a scholar. I am sad for him, because he is so convinced of his belief, and its commendable, but that doesn't erase the shallow result of his purpose. He inevitably withers away, and his purpose finds no fruit. He hurts himself, and everyone around him. No matter what you can do, until he reaches the end of his path, he will remain semper-fi. I wish there is someone who could share the sorrow of the Lich, because the entirety of his existence, he is hated, never understood. It will never matter how much his words mean, because the result will be all the same.
