Simulation of the formation and propagation of antidunes in free surface flow using the waLBerla multiphysics framework. Antidunes are a fascinating bedform that migrates upstream under certain flow conditions. The detailed data of particle and fluid motion available through our simulation approach opens many possibilities to better understand antidune mechanics and the physical controls on bedform initiation and morphodynamics in supercritical flows.
