this is by far my favorite track by Partiboi. leaving home and everything you've known to follow your dreams and tour the world and rely only upon yourself probably takes some getting used to. what has to be given up? the security of home. everything is truly on you staying within yourself and sticking to it when your passion and your work become one. these are just my thoughts from observing him stepping his career up and up over the past couple years. on the production side it's totally different and almost melancholy while being technically excellent (which has never been a problem but this is SO clean). maybe learning when to leave behind the persona and let whats on your heart shine through but not forgetting where you've come from. for me it's a very emotionally driven slammer and I listen to it at least twice every time I put it on.

also worth pointing out for those who don't know, in the video it's new partiboi and old partiboi, or stingray, a character that has largely disappeared. The music video could be seen as quite a meta story, with partiboi resurrecting stingray just for this video, and how stingray and what pariboi now is don't quite gel. Partiboi is out touring the world, but he probably misses the days of producing music in some crappy room and doing music videos with his mom. I've seen videos from other successful youtubers where they talk about missing the early days of their career

The directing on this is done in such a style that fits so well with the music and is totally the future style of romance esque music videos with this kind of beat. Ps: this song has left me completely unprotected.
