Absolutely brilliant presentation, if only a bit heavy for me so far. I'll make sure to come back to it at a lager stage in mathematical ability.

I accidentally found this video and the lectures are given by Murty!! I like his two problem books in number theory.

This was an excellent lecture. I finally learnt the partial summation formula and it’s not that hard to use!

Thanks for this video! There was something was not really agreeing on at 45:24. He said that integral of 1/t dt (1 to x) is log(x) but it is ln(x) right? or is there some rule i don't know about?

In most of higher-level mathematics, log(x) is usually taken to mean ln(x) rather than log10(x) unless stated otherwise. The reason log(x) being base 10 is the convention in lower-level courses is that 10 is the base of our counting system (decimal). Thus, it's easier to calculate for those learning it for the first time, and it remains the standard for awhile. Because log(x) is taken by this, these lower-level courses then introduce ln(x) for base e. The reason log(x) being base e is the usual convention in most of pure mathematics is that it's typically the only base ever used (with exceptions, i.e., base 2 being the most common in computer science).

In mathematic, we use log(x) for the base e. So he meant to write log_e(x) so ln (x).
