Liquidcadmus elegant my ass. Just because she is a beautiful Korean lady does not make it any less powerful than a man. Half of those guys look like they could barely kick. I am married to a Korean and have two daughters and I tell you nothing will strike more fear than an angry Korean woman.

I like how she is able to (perfectly) control her body, how she is able to keep balance even in slowest movement. This with the perfect execution let me stand amazed between the doors. Even for someone who is interested in ballet this is a pleasure to watch (but I also practice Taekwondo). Further she is focused, demonstrates the examples in the right speed. I only have positive words for her teaching.

One of the things I would like to do is go to Japan, China and Korea and actually learn the REAL deal. The real training regimen the students actually go through to be as good as black belt as a lower rank. These styles have seriously watered down in the US and the instructors that have gone through the intense training in the respective countries should teach the same way here in the US. If students can't deal with the training, then it's not for them.

jae kim Thats not entirely true. I train in the World Chung Do Kwan association under Grandmaster Park. while we follow overall WTF guidelines we still have our own guidelines and additional poomsae outside of the WTF forms. When we train you can see the obvious influence of Shotokan karate in our system which has mostly disappeared from straight up WTF.

Ridiculous. This is 'real' taekwondo? This you couldn't use to swat a fly, let alone survive in a street fight! Just a bunch of fancy butterfly moves with no real-world fighting value. Those spin kicks are potentially deadly... to the person doing the spinkicking!

I'm a 1st Dan in Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do is an art that relies heavily on powerful kicks. I personally hated doing forms, and focused more on sparring. Would I throw a head kick in a street fight, absolutely not. If your opponent gains control of your leg, you are screwed. I'm going to go for the shins, knees, legs, maybe a kidney shot. In the clinch, knees.

I trained before Tae kwon do and had black belt.It was not easy to upgrade your belt. I think it is easy to get black belt because i see this people can not move fast and disciplined. I changed my style to kyo kushin and i think it is much better and stronger than tae kwon do. Every punch must be effective and strong which i can not see any more in tae kwon do.

I've trained in Shorin-ryu, Goju-ryu, Shito-ryu, Okinwan kobudo and Taekwon-Do ChungDoKwan and JiDoKwan. Hence my comparisons are based upon seeing and doing experience over the years. What I see here is, with all due respect. lots of hypermobility trained high kicking and punch block- stepping combinations. Combat combinations we used to called them. This, sadly, is Kup rank training and waaaay over simplistic for dan rank participants. No complex bunkai... applications for self-defense and life protection. Skills derived from poomsae. The former may be OK for Olympic competition, but this TKD is not karate, and definitely NOT Okinawan karate, the roots of which Lee Won Kuk brought to Korea in the late 1940's. Hapkido is what serious Korean style martial artists ought to be training in and some of what I expected to see here given the levels of the participants. Just say'in.
