Payed a visit in June (2023) and Michael let my wife and I thru the barrier of the Tempest for a up close look, took the time to explain the tailplane failures of the Typhoon and remedy's that are in the Tempest and other questions , showed him pics of my father working on Spitfires in WW2 as he was a aircraft mechanic in the RCAF, big thanks to Michael and the Tempest looks fantastic!

Great project and very well done for finding the funding to do it. Just look at the increase of support as things progress. The first step is always the hardest, but let’s hope others will follow in your footsteps and other lost aircraft will return.

Oh man I can't wait to see this thing fly. Please upload more content. This video was the best video I've ever seen as far as actual work in progress and seeing how things are made rather than listening to how it's made by a guy who films like 1/10th of his work on other channels.

Subscribed... I understand what it takes to execute such a complex project. Most of the original designers and engineers are dead or too old to help. An inspirational restoration project for the future generations to enjoy this magnificent plane. It will be a commercial success if you could sell it to 3rd world countries as CAS aircraft with modern avionics.

You are heat forming Lexan? Back in the early 90's I was in the RAAF and wanted to heat form a fairing screen for my Norvin. We tried and tried but Lexan would not take a curve. Had to go back to Acrylic sheet.

What engine is in the frame ? Not the Napier sabre MK series looks like your going for the MK II Bristol Centaurus radial type later MKs had the griffon engines later MKs had the MK VI Napier sabre 2 340 bhp great stuff interesting stuff

The engine originally was Bristol Centaurus radial, but in common with most Hawked Furies in the USA, the engine has been changed to a Pratt and Whitney.

It would be nice to see it with the original SV Centaurus, but parts are rare and there's not enough support and know how anymore. Look at the RN Historic Flight and the trouble they have had with their Centaurus powered Sea Furies. There is still considerable support, know how and spares for the P&W R2800. Be happy that while it's not completely original because of that, it's the only one that will be flying. I believe a Cent powered Mark 2 is being restored in the U.K.

It is in all details better then factory work. Every mechanic sees that. Chapeau ! One of the few aircraft a German fighter could never win from.... P. Clostermann said that ? But , instead of statements like -a hell of al lot of work-, I had like to hear more specific things: the fuselage stucture without empanage; structure alone, cost us, say 20.000 hrs, The complete fuel system cost us 1800 man hrs etc.. Well done!

Free consumers are not entitled to demand. You could've asked in a better way. I see so many people feeling entitled to in-depth details of projects which they do not contribute to. Send them a cheque for equipment or be patron and then ask this super team politely here...loll.. let's see enjoy their work and their dedication...

@@AnilKumar-in4fs Dear Anil. I understand your view. But on the otherside, by posting details, you make the viewer curious. And this viewing public is of course very much Typhoon / Tempest / FW190 interested. So their questions are not that strange. At home I an building a touring motorglider of own design. I did everyhing myself, the structural, aerodynamic, flight dynamic design; e.g. stick-force-per G etc etc...and builded it myself in a very high detail... turned, polished, hardended, released-residual-stress the wingspar-pins for instance. Do you e.g. know these pins increase in diameter due the ferritic to martensitic structure transition, say around 0.1 percent (depending C-content) ? So my question comes from aircraft-building experience, and is not that weird. And I want to repeat again: Very well done!

@@louisvanrijn3964 I have never come more then 500 meters close to an aircraft let alone build one. I have retrofit old antique CNC machines from 1970s and 80s with no documentation. Its not a matter of what we know or do...Asking a question the right way..There was a tone of entitlement that it felt ..Anyway english is not my first language and I could have read you wrong..Could be a culture thing...

@@AnilKumar-in4fs Hi Anil, I understand. Building or rebuilding these complex flying machines costs a ton of hours, let alone the material cost. I estimate to have spent more than 6000 hrs in my project. Even the simplest aircraft has at least 15 systems, so I was curious about the details, instead of superficial words. Building the ASK13 glider (in serie) costs 600 hrs they told me, but it has no engine. Would say: go on with this magnificent project, groeten from NL.

Is this and almost every other airplane project of this type really a restoration ?. 95% of this airplane has been scratch built from new is this more of a replica than a restoration.
