The more I watch, the more I admire your skill. Hard to believe this is a first time project for you. I am restoring an old rental house and you put a lot of the contractors we have here to shame.

Thanks (although I know for sure there are skilled tradesmen out there who possess much more knowledge and skill than myself). Having said that, one thing I have learned over the years is that if you want something done right or correct, most of the time you are better off doing it yourself.

Dee80, I will be starting the roof panels today. I am hoping this stage is relatively straight forward, with few problems.

If you watch a KZread video on hip rafter cutting rather than make a video you will See how wrong it is to use a multi tool to cut a birds mouth lol or is it the birds eye or birds lip 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I don’t profess to be an expert. The project is DIY after all and I am attempting to encourage people to do things themselves. The rafters have been in place for a while now and show no signs of movement while supporting a heavy roof including slate. Sorry if the video does not meet your clear superiority and expert skills. However, I have saved a lot of money on the build and it has given me a lot of pleasure during the process.

Unhappy people try to bring others into their misery. You can't shake this man...look at his beautiful property and all he's done. Peaceful world. Yours obviously isn't.
