Thanks for visiting one of our state gems. Some of the “unofficial trails” lead to the most beautiful arches and places . You just have to do your research first. Always be careful as there’s countless spurs off of these trails and easy to get lost. That cherry drink you were drinking is referred to as a “pop” locally, but my family says soda. That soda is called “A-8-One,” but you didn’t have the original, just a one of the lesser flavors. They’re produced very locally (about 45 minutes away) in Winchester, KY and it’s very popular in KY. Their packaging even has photos from Auxier Ridge on it. ❤

The soft drink you had is pronounced ale-eight-one. It was invented in Winchester, KY, 25 miles from Natural Bridge. It is still made exclusively in Winchester and will celebrate 100 years in 2026.

That doesn't look like tuna! Looks like a wonderful day exploring the park. That arch was indeed quite nice. This park had a really great collection of shorter trails with good rewards. It's nice that you don't have to hike for 10 miles to get a good view. Those grape juice rocks were cool! Wow, the view at the end is stunning!

I love that you got a good taste of what Eastern Kentucky offers. So many wonderful places to explore. Once again, if you’re ever in the area again please look me up. I’ll show you some of the stuff off the beaten path. Plus you need to eat at Miguel’s pizza and wash it down with Kentuckys own Ale 8-one (a ginger based soft drink, “a late one”)
