Looks like someone took an old metal utility building and bolted a bunch of parts onto it and repurposed it into an old large gizmo from hell. Or maybe a Mad Max movie all scorched earth and shit hahahaha 😂

Looks like the crane was purpose to work it's service life at one pit and die there . Probably to much to break it down to relocate it at a long distance . The walking pads were probably a lot cheaper than really big crawler track's appears the engineers design movement to be inexpensive for it's purpose 50 year's later it's worth the long slow walk to the next pit mine. VS a new crane .
