Part 2 - One Bucket at a Time Mucking & Prospecting for Gold

Ғылым және технология

MineOperator mills, concentrates, and pans the 3 samples from last weeks video entitled, "How to Build a Platform Over a Mine Shaft!" After recovering and verifying gold values, he decides to muck off the overburden to expose where the vein splits. Join in on the adventure as Chad has to muck again and does the shovel dance.
Common sense, situational awareness, wisdom, adaptability, and flexibility (real-time risk assessment) are required to stay alive over the desire for discovery; remember this, and you cannot go wrong when prospecting.
Never compromise to external pressures or lack of time to test a prospect. After overcoming snakes, washed-out roads, and dangerous loose rocks to scale, MineOperator samples a long forgotten prospect. Is this the beginnings of a possible mine? Stay tuned and thanks for watching!

I think all of us appreciate the work you put in to your mines. I see so many tasks that it seems could be made less demanding on the body, if only you have the $ to throw at the issues. You do what you have to in order to complete the task. Our condolences to you and your friends and family for your loss. Your friend was the same age as I am and serves as a reminder of our mortality.

If you watch the Aussies, they use a really big, motor powered vacuum. Using that with an air riffle, you could pre-sluice even the waste rock in one pass without any extra work. Also, far less physical effort, and less waste rock falling back into the workings.

Feeding the dry crush into the sluice without wetting it, then later on when panning you stress the importance of getting the crush wet. You certainly wont lose any more gold by wetting it, and in all probability you will catch more gold, I know you must know this maybe you did it to show the powder I don't know but worth mentioning it on the video.

Have you thought of bringing some supply of water and some pans and classifiers to test some of that finer mucked material for any free gold that might show up. Just a thought. Just when I typed this comment you did exactly what I thought you might do. Good thinking of you.

Yeah, one bucket at a time isnt it. Knew a little old guy once who had a mine, but a boulder fell in front of the adit from uphill. Took him about 2 months, ut he chipped straight through a 5' dia boulder (as big as he was) in about 2 months. I trek down there one day and there are 2 perfect halves, and all he used was a chisel and 4-pounder. I've been down that road with cutting chopping and stacking 8 cords of firewood, and stacking 3 tons of wood pellets. Mountains turn into molehills eventually.
