Hisun/Massimo 700 UTV Maiden Voyage.I Hope I Don’t Have to Walk Home….
• Part1-Hisun/Massimo 70...
*** Here’s some Amazon links to the parts I used in this build. I only use the ones that work good.
*ENGINE iCE coolant. This stuff works!! amzn.to/3OnJG8g
*Oil Filter- These 700’s have an oddball oil filter that is NOT the same as the 660 or 700 Yamaha Rhino. Here’s the link to the filter I use amzn.to/3RSIhJV
** Package of two engine oil filters cheap to buy!! They have a bolt head on them to tighten and loosen.
amzn.to/3V3yIJQ
*Clutch Shim Kit-I used these shims to lower my low end gearing. These sxs’s are geared taller than the Rhino so need all the help they can get. amzn.to/3RPodrP
*Mishimoto Oversized Radiator- this was a game changer and makes the engine run so much cooler than stock. It’s for the 660 Rhino so it IS NOT a direct bolt on but easy to fab up brackets to make it fit. My engine never goes over 175°F even on long steep climbs on hot days.
Keeps everything much cooler and more reliable than stock. Watch for my video showing how I made the brackets. amzn.to/3v4bY0P
*Exhaust pipe header wrap-This stuff works awesome at keeping the heat down around the engine.I just wet the header wrap then installed and despite bad reviews it’s holding up great. I think the key is to lightly wet the wrap before install-amzn.to/3oeHDJn
*Exhaust pipe gasket and headpipe washers/gasket- These seem to be working good no leaks after a couple hundred miles. amzn.to/3zm1oVA
*Choke Cable-surprisingly this is a well built cable and fit 100%. I usually like to buy Yamaha cables but this one is high quality plus over half the cost. amzn.to/3ojeahu
*Air Box boot- this goes from the airbox to the carburetor and it did fit but it had no recess like the stock one had so I had to modify it. It would have still bolted on but I didn’t like the lip of the carb sticking out. U ground the edge with a dremel and it works fine but i’d use a factory Yamaha 660 Rhino boot if I did it again. If you need it fast though it will work. amzn.to/3OvumXC
*Clutch cover Rubber gasket-Fits perfect- amzn.to/3cr02zS
*4 wheel drive servo motor- if you need a new 4x4 electric motor this brand works great. Bolted right in.
amzn.to/3czmqHy
*steering rack- this bolted right in and fit perfect. I have a couple hundred miles on it and will do a review later to let you know how it holds up. Much cheaper than buying a Yamaha rack and convenient to buy on Amazon.
*Gear shift boot-the stock one was all cracked up so I ordered this one and it seems high quality and fit great. Also it doesn’t have that horrible made in China smell that lots of the older parts made there used to have. amzn.to/3aXwvxu
*Oil pressure gauge- digital RED gauge with the pressure sender as well. Don’t forget to ground the metal gauge or it won’t work! amzn.to/3PEhfEV
*Starter- this starter is the DB electric brand and it works great!
It turns my engine over much faster than the original. I put silicone around the seams to keep water out and 3 years later it’s still working great. amzn.to/3yQkh1s
*Ball Joints- these are the All Balls brand and normally in the past I did not have good luck with these. It looks like they upgraded the boots and other parts of them now and so far they are still nice and tight. Make sure you freeze them for 24hrs the heat the knuckle up and they will slide right in no hammering needed and best chance of them lasting a long time-amzn.to/3v78Wcf
*Front Wheel Bearing kit- this is the Pivot Works brand and I’ve tried all brands of bearings and have great luck with these vs other ones.
One pack will do both front wheels and they come with excellent oem quality wheel seals as well. No complaints and make sure to freeze the bearings for 24hrs in the freezer then heat the knuckle before install they’ll slide right in.
Front wheel nut torque on mine is 190ft/lbs make sure you torque them don’t guess or you will have play in the bearings-amzn.to/3cyqY0R
**Speed sensor- This goes in your “rear end” or rear final drive. It is where you fill the gear oil.
Put dialectic grease on the plug to make a water proof seal.
amzn.to/3VCnNqO
***Digital Speedometer/Tachometer/Odometor- I have not actually needed one yet but this fits the older style 500/700 Hisun,Powermax,Supermach,Benchee etc.

Chris, I really would love to come visit you and go riding with my ranger. you treat the trail very much the way I do and I can tell you are a conscientious rider. I like that you pick up trash and maintain the trails as you use them. you also ride at a very casual pace and I think that's just about perfect for me. I like to putter along and see the bush. you say that hisun is geared a bit high, but even on some of those climbs, it seemed to navigate them with ease. I think my ranger is geared considerably higher. often I find the gearing to be too high and it shows a distinct lack for power in certain situations. I think that's polaris's way of trying to out compete the competition. it's a work horse, not a race horse! why they thought it needed to be faster than all of the other utv's in its class by 10kmh or more, I have no idea. but despite its shortcomings, it does well enough for all I ever ask of it. I was able to work way through some tight trails towing the trailer and it was trouble free

Ya on this one I shimmed the primary clutch to widen the sheaves and lower the belt for more low end gearing so it’s a little better than stock and does fine on the trail but in thick mud I can tell it would need lower gearing. On yours you should be able to do the same bug your belt system is different in that the belt isn’t under constant tention and no wet clutch. I’m sure there is a lot of power to be had there.

Did you?? Lol you couldn’t tell at all. In the late 90’s/early 2000’s we rode those trails there lots. I think there is an old side trail around it. I remember it being really muddy past that and the were doing Seismic so the whole area around the town, the dunes etc had wires running down all the cutlines.

@@Indeewoods ya it grows in quick. 30” tires didn’t disturb much. We will have to meet up one day for a sxs ride. Show you some history out at “sandstone canyon ranch” the old railway. Was a small town of 500 with a blacksmith shop and post office And much more…

I say this to people all the time. Try to stick to the main trail. If you have to move around every hole on the trail your bikes probably not big enough or a group needs to get together and try to "groom” the trail so to speak. it really disturbs wildlife and makes it way to easy for predators to hunt said wildlife by making huge game trails. We don’t need highways running thru the bush. A little bypass here or there is fine but basically making a 40ft wide road is disgusting.

You should come for a ride in my neck of the woods/mountains. You encounter hundreds of washouts/mud holes etc. You go through the middle of each and every hole all it means is you get stuck lots no matter how big or small your machine is. No idea what you are saying with disturbing wildlife. You’ll have to be more specific on that. We have extrenely rugged trails here and I’m sure we disturb wildlife just like anyone would starting up their car in their driveway. If an animal happens to be there it just moves along.

@@Indeewoods I ride some brutal trails and get stuck quite often. I actually find it to sometimes be the funnest part. I ride mostly around Bragg creek and sundre in Alberta. Sometimes up in the fort mcmurray area aswell. But I’m always looking for new areas so if your around Alberta Canada maybe we could make it happen. I wasn’t saying your the issue either so I hope that’s not how you took it. I’m saying that you were right on it’s crazy how many cut off trails there were just to avoid one hole. if people would just stick to one side and ride slow to bypass those holes there wouldn’t be 100ft of ruined bush. instead people choose to make 4 trails and eventually fish and game officers are gonna shut that trail down because it’s just damage to the surrounding land. If you want to mud hit that hole but don’t make 5 more just to avoid it like some guys do. I prefer to hit the hole every time myself and just winch thru if needed. In terms of wildlife. I don’t care if the machine scares animals they have had to deal with us for years. It’s the 4 trail sections right next to each other that’s bad for them. Hurd animals like deer tend to take them and predators like to wait at the point we’re all 4 trails meet and ambush them as easy prey. Between the influx of more hunters than ever it’s just bad for animal populations. If you did read read all that, I like the content and I hope you keep riding and having fun posting the videos.

@@buildurtruckurway9118 no I was just more or less asking what you meant and you cleared that up. I got off of the trail about 10 or 11 pm last night it was a BRUTAL trail haha chicken trails through the trees in a skeg area. You know the kind. I’m riding just North West of Sundre along the mountains. Gov would have a fit of the mud holes but have zero issues with logging or open pit coal mining. Lol To be honest I like a mix of trails and shake my head when people want make each trail flat as a pancake with zero mud or water. The only thing I can agree with them on is if a mud hole drains into a river/creek and building bridges across wet lands so as to not tear the place to heck. I don’t like to get that muddy anymore but last night there was no way around it and I have to say I had a lot of fun. Had to drain my clutch cover and water/silt poured right out of there lol. What I’m pushing for is leave the mud holes close to the trail and make a good by pass trail. Like you say it looks bad when the trail is 40 feet wide. Last night I was on a very popular rugged trail and it was 200 feet wide of mud. Is it hurting anything? Not really but the greenies will tell you all day long it is. For areas like that where we got stuck 3 times in 15 min I would like to see a good bypass trail and leave 10 feet on either side for the ones that want to hit the mud. Reclaim the rest and life goes on. I will say the frogs LOVE our chewed up skeg holes. I seen all kinds of toads and frogs on the trail and a few grouse near the dry areas in the trees. Lots of moose tracks following parts of the trail.

@@Indeewoods I don’t think skeg holes or 200ft wide mud runs are an issue I love em. It’s only in the deep bush in migration areas that I consider it an issue we’re trails are starting to have problems with garbage and lack of care. I don’t want the deer patrol causing us riders issues so just like you I do my part treat the trails like they should be ride my machine hard as hell thru the main holes and have fun doing it.
