Was digging an old school that had been converted into nursing homes etc. downtown. Found some 1870's IHP's, 3 ring bullets, etc. but the best was a 1772 KG3 1/2 penny which I donated to the local museum. I had no idea there would be anything that old found there. Thing barely had enough meat left on it to identify it but there she was. LOL :) Love watching your show. Good on you getting to detect such a sweet spot.

Congrats on the Draped Bust. It's beautiful. I would love to see that area of the country and walk where my ancestors did. Mainly in the Tidewater area of Virginia.

I've noticed on my manticore as well that pennies will read up really high like that occasionally.... Also I've dug silver quarters as low as 64 and clad ones as high as 94 on the vdi. I think its because of it being so sensitive that some variables... Soil, emi , angle of the coin in the soil ect. Also I've noticed on coins on edge some times it'll give a single tone and sometimes two tones one either side of the coin. Then it'll pinpoint as two targets side by side but it'll actually be in between the two targets. Although i think that might be a common thing with all detectors.

Yes I get many penny signals up high like that and digging where I was digging my hopes were getting high but a penny has a way to keep you humble. lol 😆
