Glad to have found you!! I' a little confused concerning colours... What's " lake" ? And by "dye" you mean micas? Got the part about oxides, though ,LOL ! Pardon my ignorance, I' ve been making soap for a year now and I' d like to add to that! Thank you for the useful and detailed information!! 🥰

Hi and welcome to the channel. Lakes and dyes are FDC batch certified colors for use in bath bombs. The only time you should use mica in a bath bomb is to paint the top detailed features if you would like. Mica will float to the top of the tub and stick to your skin in the bath and then when you drain the tub, it will stick to the sides of the tub so it is not recommended For bath bombs. When you use it to paint the tops of bath bombs, use a polysorbate which you need to use anyway if you are using lakes to color your bath bombs. Dyes do not need polysorbate, but you do need to bloom them with hot water.

Thank you for sharing. I have had some disasters with bath bombs, very heavy, sinkers, fizz out in seconds, no fizz just foam, stuck in the mould, the list goes on 😂

Bath Bomb's are the baine of alot of makers' existence but.......they are alot of fun once you master it. Thanks for watching, stay tuned for more to come. We're continuing to build on that original recipe.

so I see that the bowl is staining. Does the Colarants do that to the tub? Or does the Poly 80 help with that? And Lastly any suggestions on High Humidity? It is a balmy 92 percent here today in Gloomy Florida..LOL

I only use lakes to color my bath bombs, not dyes. Dyes absolutely can stain your tub. Because it's white, of course you will see color adhering to the plastic. This bowl washed away clean. As for high humidity, I don't play the humidity game. I have 1 recipe that works all year round. My suggestion would be butters in your recipe.

How long do you let the bath bombs set? Like before you handle them to sell

They are good to go within 48 hours but I usually don't sell them for a week.
