This is the second part of the video : Application to German universities, explained step by step how to find a suitable university in Germany. In this video the focus lies on the course structure and future scope of the Bachelor of Bioengineering in Kleve.This is a English-taught Bachelor program, with no tuition fee. You just habe to pay a small semester contribution every 6 months, with that you will be given a student card with which you can travel in full province of Nordrhein-Westfalen(NRW) with all trains, trams and busses for free. On the weekends and weekdays after 19:00 o'clock you are also allowed to take an additional person on train and busses for free with you.
There are many international students in Kleve from a lot of nations and so it is not difficult to find people to interact or become friends.
There are a lot of student accommodations provided by the Studentenwerk (student support association) of the university , if you want a room in those apartments, which mostly are a little cheaper than getting a room in a private apartment, you should apply a little bit early and be on the waiting list. You can apply for this once you get your admission letter to Rhein-Waal university, you don’t have to wait until you get your visa approved to Germany.
Kleve is a relatively small city and thus not so much part-time opportunities, but with the train you you reach bigger cities like Krefeld and Düsseldorf where there are plenty of part-time jobs available for students.Many students work in restaurants, Mac-Donalds ,KFC as cashier or helper in the kitchen , there are also always need for delivery jobs, either with bicycle or car( if you have a valid drivers license for Germany).
In Kleve there are some petrol-stations like Esso, they usually hire students as cashiers for a decent salary, there is a hospital called St-Antonius Krankenhaus where students help the nurses to take of the patients during the semester-holidays( they pay you very good).
Kleve is situated in the border between Germany and the Netherlands, anybody who come to study in Kleve should not miss the opportunity to travel to the city of Nijmegen( in Netherlands), the best part is that you can travel to Nijmegen for free with the bus.
There are also sometimes student vacancies in the university where you can help the professors to conduct practical work for students in the labs or assist in teaching. Please inquire at the international office or your university seniors about this, incase you are interested in Hiwi-jobs.
