What a beautiful area you live in. Thank you for taking us on your walk. I live in a beautiful spot too, five minute walk from the lake, mountains all around, another lake at the other end of town. I too love Edith Holden, enjoy watching you create, getting lots of ideas, thank you.

Great idea!! Beautiful.. enjoy your journey!
Great video all round, your intro to the 2 journals you are planning to make, the look inside the books, the wonderful instructions on how to make the covers to the journal and then to top it all off a tour of your lovely area. I have lived in Florida in the USA for 30 years, I always thought of Florida as perpetual green, it took me 20 years to actually notice the difference in the subtle change of seasons here. During the last few years I began to really look closely at my surroundings and started a Walking the Wheel of the Year journey observing the changes in the natural world surrounding me. I have been amazed at the changes I have noticed on a daily basis and will be basing my Field Notes on my own area, I will also add a bit of influence of Edith Holden and my memories of living in an area with 4 seasonal changes. I look forward to seeing both your journals evolve.

Corrine, both journals will be amazing as all your work is. The walking tour was great. The video didn’t jiggle, phones have a stabilizer in them, don’t waste money on a go pro, but it would be real fun to see the wildlife - maybe a trail cam would be fun. If you did a lot of walking and touring, get a gimble for the phone. It totally stabilizes everything. You nigh also want to get a lapel mic if you were to do more walking. It helps a lot with picking up your voice and a wind sock would also help. Thanks so much for taking us along. What a beautiful area.

Such a beautiful area to live in! You will definitely have plenty of inspiration for your beach themed journal. I like the idea of your flip flop journal, I have several Readers digest books that I could do that with. I really enjoy your channel, the process you share of how you plan your projects and explaining why you include something or not.

What a beautiful environment! Great field notes findings for sure! Your journal will be so different than any other! Have fun searching and sketching with threads
Fabulous ideas, and I love the use of printed embroideries that haven't been stitched on as a background. Tilly Rose has a new book out called Among the Wildflowers and there are iron on transfers included, so I think I will be making good use of those in my project.

WOW! I love this video. I haven't watched yours for a while as I've been working full time but I really enjoyed this. I've got so much to say!! 🤣 I watched this video over a 2 day period so today I went to Spotlight and got myself the herb tea towel! They didn't have the flower one but I'm so happy with what I got. Ok I bought 2 of them lol. I loved looking through all the books with you. I recently borrowed from the library "The untamed thread by Fleur Woods", you may have already seen it and reviewed so sorry if I'm repeating something you already know about. It is delicious! Thank you for sharing your beautiful 'backyard' with us. I've never been to Hervey Bay but I feel like I want to live there now.❤I live in NSW. Your camera isn't wobbly when you're walking. It was very clear. Thanks again for a lovely video 🌷

Corrine, I think your brain waves have attached to mine ..... (which is a worry for you) I love the sketch idea, I love the details of plants, I love the bugs !! you name it I love it. The trouble is once I grab an idea, my mind races with zillions of other ideas ....... these pages could begin with 'normal' but the more you add the more ideas bury me hahahahaha but I'm in my own world while I'm working on the ideas anyway. Have fun and thanks for inspiration ! PS - I'm in Central Qld

Lovely start to your new stitchery’s. Yep I am in a wonderful place too just like you, surrounded by national parks. We have lovely rain forest only thing is it’s green all year round except for Christmas time then bam we have lovely reds as the Rata and pōhutukawa take flower so the hills look like they are on fire so pretty. But year round green, one year a non native got in and gasped we got autumn leaves on one tree so this beautiful yellow so pretty dock got in and no tree know just green. My seasons would be green with a red for, yellow green for Christmas yep so boaring pretty though. Loved looking around your back yard such a lovely place, me a kept my eyes open for 🐊 crocodiles, snakes 🐍 and brr spiders! Yep I know not all of Aussie is like this you’ve got sharks 🦈 too! lol have a great weekend today I am of for a arty adventure, learning about clay should be fun.

lol., no crocodiles here thank goodness! You area sounds beautiful too.. thanks for sharing that with me !
Even though you don't have winter per se there in Queensland, I think you'll discover many subtle differences in the beach environment now that you are there to study it closely every day--the quality of light, the progression of plant and animal life, the moods of the water... It will be a lovely, intimate study of your new "homescape" ETA: I didn't realize until the tour that your big move was just across the way on the lake. Of course you know the ins and outs of all your seasons by now! I bet you'll never get tired of studying it for your journal though.

I love Edith Holden and have 2-3 of her books. It's hard to consider cutting them up but probably will at some point. I've been uncertain how to proceed. There are some examples on Pinterest. What did we do before that? I'm so glad you're doing this project so you can "show me the way." Thank you!
I really enjoyed that entire video - thank you!! Lots of good ideas and I have a few of the books you mentioned; your visual with the book(s) covers and folding suggestions helped me to understand the process better. If you ever do another video about going to your beach, may I ask that you show the sand where the shells are located and where the beach meets the water. I am just curious if it looks like where I live. Thanks again.
