Conference Speaker: Dn. Sampson Nash:
Dn. Sampson (Ryan) Nash, MD, MA, is an ordained Deacon of the Orthodox Church, a medical doctor, bioethicist, and world-renowned scholar. He holds the Hagop S. Mekhjian, MD, Endowed Chair in Medical Ethics and Professionalism and is the Director of The Ohio State University Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Christian Ethics at St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary and is Professor of Medicine in St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary’s D.Min. program. In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Nash continues to care for patients with advanced cancer. Dr. Nash’s scholarship focuses at the nexus of medicine, ethics, theology, and culture. Dr. Nash is a Deacon attached to St. Gregory of Nyssa Orthodox Church (OCA) in Columbus, Ohio. He is the grateful husband of Sarah and a proud father of four daughters. He occasionally helps them run their small farm north of Columbus.
