if you like craggy you need to use it with "clarts". Claggy clarts is one of my favourite Geordie phrases (and I am a Geordie). It means sticky muddy filth. The kind you get walking through thick muddy puddles. "You've just walked through some claggy clarts"

My Mam grew up about a kilometre from Sarah’s home. We emigrated to Canada when I was quite young but we travelled a lot and I spent a fair bit of time in South Shields at my Gran’s. I was enrolled in school on our more extended visits. How thrilled was I to discover I “almost” went to school with Sarah. Sarah sounds exactly like my Gran - no offence Sarah, my Granny always had a high, sweet sounding voice like yours despite her age. She also had a saucy sense of humour and glint in her eye despite her tidy, prim appearance. I don’t get back to the UK nowadays so listening to “How to Be Champion” was doubly pleasurable- the humour and the accent of my childhood. To think we might have passed each other one afternoon in The Nook....I really, really, REALLY believed Minchella’s was the best ice cream IN THE WORLD, cos my Mam said so.
