Almost everyone in my entire life always doubted me. During that ceremony I cried and felt so proud of myself and thought of those who didn't believed in me

The corps has changed...I received mine on the parade field at mcrd April 2004 in front of the audience and family members...by my kill hat DI SSgt. Woods.. smoked the living fuck out of me..before he could give it to me I was crying..glad I got it from him.. soon much emotion because of him shaping and molding...Never forget him...Golf Co 2155 April 4th 2004. Dad got his B day present...seeing me make it through...2003-2007

I think we got ours day before graduation, And I don't remember much ceremony . Still called Recruit till graduation , Left for Camp lejeune on a bus 2 Hr later Plt 315 3rd btn 1970

I remember when I received my EGA. I went to boot camp in July 2003, graduated Oct 10 2003 3rd Btn Mike Co. I cried that day because I was proud of myself and my fellow Marines. This was one of my greatest accomplishments to date. I am forever grateful to be a United States Marine. Even though I am now a veteran I am and forever will be a Marine. SEMPER FI.

I have 2 nephews who are Marines. Thank you to ALL who serve past, present and future. From a proud daughter of a World War II veteran.

Doesn't matter how big and bad you are. We had a 25 yr old gang banger in our platoon. Rap sheet longer than Ron Jeremy's dick. He bawled like a baby when our senior handed him his EGA and I stood right next to him and balled my eyes out too. Our senior said each tear was the soul of a marine who gave their life for this country welcoming us into the brotherhood. I will never forget that day.

Three awesome days. 1. When i got my eagle globe and anchor my son being born and then the best seing my son get his eagle globe and anchor i will never forget

You can see it in their faces. They are proud. Proud that they are still standing. Proud of themselves. Proud even though they can't sing worth a shit. Don't care. Don't even think about messing with them. They will tear you a new one. I love them.

I envy you, I went to Parris Island in August of 1968. When we graduated we didn't have a ceremony with the globe & ancker. They handed us our dog tags and orders and put us on buses to Lejeune. They were hurting for Marines to send to Vietnam. SEMPER FI Brothers and Sisters

John Williamson. Parris Island. 3Rd Btl H Co 1964. They did the same thing with us. Late February of 65 I received my orders for Vietnam while stationed at Camp Lejeune. Thanks for serving with us.

Although I have never served I hold each and every one of you dear to my heart. I have so much pride and respect for those of you that have chosen to protect and fight for the things that so many of take for granted. *September 1985* After the 10-mile force march (rifles and backpacks), being the platoon scribe (3069, 3rd & I, Parris Island), I was tasked with assigning the security watch for the evening. I searched the squadbay to fill my roster. Blood-filled blisters, stress fractures and shin splints plagued the entire platoon. I called for volunteers, having the compassion to NOT assign recruits who were next in line. I received four recruits to fill the first four hours of the watch. I did the last four hours of the watch. *THIS IS THE COMMITMENT THE MARINES ARE LOOKING FOR!* If you can't complete a five-mile marathon, do not enlist in the Marine Corps.

February 26, 2011. The day I earned the title. Graduated March 4 the following week on my 21st birthday. I’ll never forget. SFMF🦅🌎⚓️

+Richard Dixon You won't know motivation till you cross the bridge on the final hike at the end of the crucible when you finally get to sing cadence. I never would have thought that during the most painful hike of boot camp I would be so happy. That's only for Paris Island though idk how Hollywood Marines do it.

I remember that feeling of receiving my EGA. We got them on the day before graduation day, 2001 3rd Btln India Co. Plt 3096! One of the greatest days ever. Semper Fi Marines, Teufelhunden!

Best day of my life besides my son being born. When that monument comes into view from humping back from the crucible there's a freakish adrenaline that pumps through you like you can't imagine! Every Parris Island Marine knows exactly what I am talking about! S/F

I am so proud of these new Marines. Semper Fi from Platoon 1022, 1966.

One of the most emotional moments you can go through. If you don't shed at least one tear while you are awarded your EGA, there's something wrong. I wish I could experience that exact moment again, even though it wan't that long ago

We started screaming cadences. Some started crying. We went by the We Make Marines sign. Others started crying. We drop our packs. More started crying. We formed up at the Iwo Jima monument. More started crying. The music kicks in. I started crying. 60 training days, all done, leading up to this moment. My senior told me he wasn't gonna make it easy, but I earned it, as he handed me my eagle, globe, and anchor. Boot camp was hell, and as much as I joke about my stupidity of joining the Corps so underprepared, I'm glad I made it out of Parris Island as a US Marine.

Semper Fi! to these new members of our Corps.

Other than seeing my two children born, this was one of the proudest moments of my life...

I graduated from PI in Nov. 1968. We got our dog tags at the time we got our orders, in the squadbay. No ceremony, nothing. I think that the new way is a great way to instill the pride into these young Marines. Semper Fi

I’ve been told that this is where DIs get in close contact with their Marines and give them words of encouragement... I drive by Paris Island once a month for work... I think of this moment for these young women and men and how that feeling must be. God keep them safe and in the palm of Your hand 🇺🇸

The deluge of emotion that comes in this moment is indescribable. A sense of accomplishment, pride, glory, exhaustion, hunger, relief, pain, strength, joy, and all the rest, except for anger, hits you all at once like a Mack truck, and is nearly impossible to keep inside.

It's the best thing you can do with your life. I'm so glad I joined. Semper Fi.

A moment that everyone remembers for life. I was army ROTC. My parents didn't bother coming to my commissioning ceremony. And I was a DMG (Distinguished Mikitary Graduate/ Member of Scabbard and Blade National Honor Society.)

I'm literally bawling my eyes out watching this. Every one of those recruits went though hell and came out on top. You definitely earned the title of united states marine. On an added note, I loved it when the band started playing the superman theme at the end.

October 2nd, 2008 on the parade deck at Edson Range. Drill Instructor Sergeant Fisher gave me my emblem. I wasn't crying at first, but a few seconds later God Bless the USA started playing over the PA and I lost it. I'd do ANYTHING to be able to experience that moment again

only thing that suck about Bootcamp was the fact that we had to buy everything. and that means everything. and some folks didnt know they were spending their own money

When I arrived in April, 1956, we were charged fifty cents for each of our haircuts. That, along with our other purchases of shaving gear, shoe polish, toothpaste, etc., came out of the $97 a month---the starting pay for a private. I'm almost 81, and the Marine Corps training still helps me in many ways. Semper Fi to all of you.

@@danielrousseau4842 no way in 1956 were you charged $100 a month for your hygiene and haircuts. Not calling you a liar but you must have your assumptions call call confused because I went through in 1999 and didn't cost but 1/3 of that a month.

@@bradsargent1907 Bradley, in 1956 a Private E1 was paid $97 a month. I never said we were charged $100 a month for haircuts, shaving gear, soap, toothbrush, etc. I just said those things were subtracted from our pay when we left Parris Island.

My husbandenlisted in 1972, when the Marines motto was GOD COUNTRY CORPS... now it's courage honor & commitment took God out, so sad . Two sons enlisted 1997& 1999. GOD Bless all ! The dress blues are the bomb👍

Having served during peace time we did not have this ceremony. They day I was able to put the Eagle, Globe and Anchor on my uniform was the greatest day of my life. I will never for get that day. I am proud to have served and I am proud of the new generation that has come behind me. The Corps is in good hands, Honor, Courage , and Commitment is the ethos of our beloved Corps. NEVER FORGET!!! Semper Fidelis Marines!

Im a Marine. Once a Marine always they say. I graduated PI Dec 84 . This video choked me up i mean i shed a couple. bcuz of. The pride i felt came right back from that day til now. Semper fi.

Watching this video actually brought tears to my eyes everything from the sergeant having the flag raised and talking about God as our savior and this and that I was definitely moved very touching. Also seeing these men and women receiving the emblem to make it official they finally made it to becoming a official Marine congrats guys and gals. I have a lot of respect for the Marine Corps in the Navy my dad was aboard the USS Saratoga back in the 70s now it has been laid to rest and take an out of service in sankt and laid peacefully so I have a lot of respect for the guys and gals of the military and of the Marine Corps in the Navy specifically. So after watching this and being touched the way I am all I can say is congrats and orahhhhhh!

Though this video is five years old, it is as real today as ever. The tears are the accomplishment of these Marines. They earned the globe and anchor and the title of United States Marines. I am from the Air Force, it was no different in 1976 when I graduated Basic Training, our MTI's telling us we were now a part of the United States Air Force, shaking our hands as tears ran down our cheeks. Unless you have served you can not understand the brotherhood that exists with-in all 5 branches of the military, nor can you understand the responsibilities you will earn once at your jobs. I earned the rank of Staff Sergeant which means I was supervising new airmen coming to the 92d Bomb Wing, 92d Security Police. Our jobs centered on securing B-52 and KC-135 aircraft on 15 minute ground alert with nuclear weapons on board. We served with Strategic Air Command and Won the cold war. Our motto was Peace Is Our Profession! Because we were ready, the Soviet Union never made a first strike at the United States. How ever lest anyone think we did it on our own, we did Not, it took all 5 branches of our military to complete the mission. Men and Women I never met did their jobs so I could do mine. There is no I in Team and there never will be. Thank You to each person that volunteers to put on our nation's military uniform. It is an awesome responsibility, backed by God's awesome grace!

Mario Lozano It's not a badge, it is an emblem and insignia for the United States Marine Corps. For God's sake, don't call it a badge if you make it through boot camp and they hand it to you.

USMC 1964 -- 68. Parris Island 3Rd Btn. Vietnam 65 -- 66, Lima Co. 3/9 Weapons Plt. ( Vietnam was the real crucible ). Well in 64 it was very rough and fast paced. But seeing this here and compared to 1964, well I am glad I went through in 64. Things were much better. Nothing personal.
