Parker J. Palmer - What is a Divided Life?

Your six words captured my attention as you inquired about what is divided? We as humans have a tendency to live two different lives/personality by how we relate to others, but mainly how we try to fit into the design of others without coming into true ourselves. We sometimes will suppress our true identity; our likes; our truth; the beauty that lies within us...we spend too much time trying to live up to other peoples (includes our very own immediate family members) forced direction of our lives instead of the journey, path, instructions and directions given by our Creator. So, for the most part we try to live out the dream career path or some other life direction of someone else instead of what we arrived here on earth to accomplish. So, then you find yourself divided between what YOU were specifically guided to accomplish by the Hand of God and what OTHERS attempt and or routinely successful (if we don't stand our ground), in creating; remolding; reshaping our choices in education; creativity; music; the arts, etc...just so we either live out a dream they failed to reach, but mainly because they too our living a "Divided Life." However, along the journey will be those sent by our Creator to get you back on track to accomplish ALL the wonderful details of your life. These are our helpers; guidance counselor; sound base; strength and a voice of truth. As an Introvert (Me) I never really fit into any one group of people or routinely feel like the odd ball. Yes, I fell into what others thought my path in life was to be and accomplished what others saw as my path, but DEPRESSION took over and it took awhile and three years of therapy to get on track. I tapped into a path that has always been available to me and was a gift specifically created and designed by our Creator, Father, Lord, Jesus Christ for me to share the gift...Creative Writing. I truly hope and pray this reaches you in a timely manner and that perhaps the words you read become beneficial in journey.
