I met Parker at my job when I worked for the Wynn. He was sitting at a slot machine playing like 900 dollars. He was really nice and even stopped playing chatting with me for like 5 minutes.

Love watching how hard these men and woman work

Ive done this type of work all my life, 18 and 36 hour shifts. It takes a toll . Now im older i can barely walk, arthritis and a bad back, my days are short and painful. You learn to live with it. Every day appreciated

Luck has nothing at all to do with it. Dedication is the word. hard work many hours, making test, spend money before even start the job. Like Tony says pan and test before, ore else you go broke. And if you look at Freddys mine rescue thats what freddy shows each and every time. And that is something that all those, that went broke, dident do.

It is on granular form when it leaves the wash plant. It never was an ore. The ore gold miners have a completely different process that involves crushing the ore. In the case of Prker's crew, the hold , called placer gold, is stuck to rocks and the wash plant shakes and washes the gold off the rocks. Subsequent steps separate the gold from the sand to produce the gold that you see when they weigh it. Hope this explanation helps.

Probably they sell it to a broker in the Yukon. They resell it for investments, jewelry manufactures, central banks, electronics manufacturers, etc…

Parkers plant is a baby compared to the big players, there are probably more gold mines in the world than all the other minerals mines put together, I am from Western Australia, Gold and Iron ore kept me in a job for 40 years, Sales manager for a global mining equipment manufacturer, there will always be mining.

So can anyone tell me how the pay goes for his crew? Like, do they get some form of profit sharing, or an hourly wage, or what? Im imagining its a lot like crab fishing where you get a small percentage share, varying by rank and whatnot as that helps to explain why they are willing to go so hard and run such long hours in terrible conditions just to drag every last gram of yellow sand from the earth.

I’m sure a nice salary!! As far as crab fishing goes guys make like 20-50 grand for maybe 2 months work, maybe 3 months!!

It's interesting how the total amount of gold mined in the Yukon has been relatively stable for years but the totals for the crews on this TV show go up significantly every year to the point where Parker and Tony now apparently mine 25% of all the gold in the province.

Well in 2021 84,900 oz were mined from the Yukon so your a ways off on your 25%. Closer to 15-16% when put together. Also Mitch said in an interview that Parker’s operation was one of the top 5 in the Yukon so those numbers would probably be quite close. I hate the obvious inconsistencies this show has but gold totals does not appear to be one of them. Now things like Monster Red just suddenly appearing for Rick out of nowhere are quite obviously completely scripted.
