Well he move on from pot and stop listening to his mom with that reaffirmation then had a psychotic attack and went missing - fortunately his mom found him in a park and put him in rehab. I don’t trust a lot of therapist - do research and ask questions.

Kathy reminds me of my friend's mother when we were in high school. She looked down on me and my family but let me tell you something, the things her daughter did, I never did - my friend made very bad choices. I love my friend but her mother thinking she was this upper class strict disciplinarian is what messed up her kids so badly. Its so unfair that parents get to say it was the past, I did my best but those issues are embedded into the very fabric of their kid's personality. You can work on your issues and heal for sure but you can't erase your memories.

Paris is still in line to inherit a ton of Hilton stocks, cash, real estate, and other property, which she will never jeopardize. Though I have nowhere near the Hilton wealth in my family, but I have a grandparent who rules others with money, property, and the threat of disinheritance for those who don't kiss the ring. He has a manipulative, gatekeeper grandchild from whom he gets input, and who will malign and impugn others to get my grandparent to favor her in his decision-making. Several months ago, for my own peace of mind and strength, I had no option but to cut them loose. Though I haven't been able to make a complete break because other family members are involved, I went Gray Rock. Either simply speaking or keeping conversations at the surface level is the best choice for me.

I don't fully agree. You can tell she really loves her daughters, and she wants to fix the trauma, but there's a good chance that everything she is hearing and preparing herself for is very foreign to how she has thought and believed her whole life. Changing a mind set, changing how you cope with things, changing how you show people love and support doesn't happen over night or during a single conversation. My guess is that she's simply taking in what the therapist is saying, trying to figure out how much makes sense right now and how much she has to still think about to figure out how she feels about it all. To me, the look on her face wasn't a blank stare of "whatever, I'm going to continue doing things my way", it was more of a deep, mental processing with the intent to continue processing on her own later.

Kathy Hilton needs to start talking, insteading of stonewalling the therapist. The therapist was letting Kathy off the hook. In real life without a camera present, maybe Kathy would have talked more. If the session had taken place in the therapist's office, the therapist would not have filled in the silent spaces, and probably would have gently urged Kathy to self-disclose more by asking her much deeper secondary questions--that in the therapist's opinion were too pointed/private/embarrassing to ask a client on a "reality" T.V. show. Kathy Hilton needs to get real and let down her guard--but if that happens at all--it is not going to be a breakthrough that is filmed for all the world to see.

@@Kp.adventure.traveler go look up the word "stonewalling" and then re-read Beth Keithly's response above. Kathy Hilton was basically avoiding talking about the problem, so yes, because Kathy wouldn't participate, while taping the therapist seems to be talking a lot but only to give Kathy a break. If this was a private therapy session, the therapist most likely would have talked less and not filled in the silent space as a method of gently urging Kathy to be more reflective and self-disclosing. Kathy has probably practiced stonewalling techniques most of her life and gotten away with them because money lends itself to unconfronted power.

Being taken is an extremely traumatic, horrifying & helpless experience that can take a lifetime to get over. Seeing your parents being “ok” with that must be devastating. Sadly, I do believe that they were convinced this was the only way to save their daughter. Alcohol & drug treatment centers teach family members about codependent, enabling & manipulation issues. Rick and Kathy could've managed their daughter at home had they simply spent more time with her. Her mother is totally not owning the responsibility that ultimately caused the trauma for Paris. Her mother is rejecting that. Also that therapy session for Paris, ugh, it wan't fully there. Paris is truly a warrior goddess at this point. But she can't let the mother to control her, Paris doesn't even realise shes a phoenix, shes above her mother and all the others. The therapist should have stayed with her and allowed to feel all the pain, and go deeper to the fact that she feels like her mom is controlling. Yes she is and she is even controlling Paris trauma and healing narrative now just to save her own skin. I wish for deepest healing and strength for Paris, and also if that means she cuts off all communication with her family for some time and calls them out for the BS, she can do it.

You guys? OF COURSE she uses a baby voice. She wants to revert to a baby, a little girl, when she was ACTUALLY protected by her parents. When she was a teenager and started to grow up (and get a bit rebellious and not be a perfect little girl) her parents literally paid people to drag her away in a dangerous situation in the middle of the night, and her parents stood by and did nothing. Granted, they thought they were getting her into an effective “scared straight/tough love” program. But the reality is: Paris did not know what was going on and was violently dragged away while her parents looked on and did not help her. Scarred for life. Her baby voice is a coping mechanism that protects her. And later on, after her abusive and traumatic experience, the baby voice gained her popularity and money…her own money, which equaled security. Do you get it yet?

I watched Paris documentary and while I could not love her more for her strength, have immense empathy for what she went though and profound admiration for the human being she is. I don't feel the same about her mother. In that documentary I saw a cold, manipulative, narcissistic woman. Ok she was in front of the cameras then and still is in this video but is wearing a mask . All I can see is an emotionless, cold Narcissists lacking in empathy and accountability for what she did to Paris and the abandonment she subjected her to when they put her in that Hell of a school. The reason Paris rebelled as a child in the first place was probably due to the fact that she wanted to get away from the controlling, manipulative, rigid, cold and narcissist mother. Lets not even talk about the father as I haven't seen any of his interviews. I assume he is an enabler, just let Paris mother do what she pleased. They will never accept responsibility for what they did to Paris, the scapegoat. Kathy's certainly did not love Paris as she did "love" Nicky or lets put this way, Kathy projected her shadow in Paris or unconsciously felt jealousy and animosity towards Paris. Nothing that Paris did was right, on the contrary, her light, enormous creativity and determination was a treat to her mediocre mother. So they locked her up to break her spirit! I understand we're trauma bonded and try to forgive our abusers but Narcissists rarely change. I just want to give Paris a big hug and say you;re not alone.

Carter is an amazing partner. I'm so glad Paris found someone so supportive. My only advice to him is that he should not put his hand on her shoulder like that when she is triggered or expressing her emotions. For trauma survivors it feels we're being strangled. I watched Paris documentary and what she went though spoke to my heart. After that I went to watch her wedding video. The first thing I noticed is that the dress Paris wore was to please her mother. Children of Narcissistic and controlling mothers become a people pleaser an unable to say no. You still have quite along way to heal Paris, so all of us.

I don't think a therapist should explain to you exactly what your situation is like, that guy is doing with Paris, a therapist should only guide you to become aware of your situation by yourself. Otherwise, it becomes unethical because a patient has no way of knowing if what their therapist is saying is true or if they're just being manipulated.

The kids that come into rich families don't always have the best options.. somehow are trapped in a vicious circle. Her mom so controlling now she "supports" Paris... pff. Fear is more powerful than Love she said as explanation to what she had done to her teen... many children are being abused by their parents in the name of beings scared of loosing the kid.. producing more harm than well. NO fear is not stronger than LOVE! Look at what fear did! And she is nor the only one! She was lucky to have a platform and develop into this business person she is now, but most of victims of abuse don't have opportunities to get some sort of retribution or be somebody that could show up in the world without the burden on the back that you are not good enough... unfortunate what happened to Paris.. hope this has a ripple effect and we learn something out of this! And stop domestic abuse once and for all!

I dont like the vibe I get from Carter after watching the show. I got a controlling, manipulative vibe from him and I really hope it wasnt his idea to keep the baby a secret from her whole family. I feel like her kids are going to be raised by nannies. She didnt take any time off from work after Phoneix was born and Carter never asked her to, he kept pushing her to work and thats so weird. She treats her baby like hes a new puppy, it's like "is he changed and fed? Oh good Ill hold him now." And all she ever did was hold him up to mirrors...she never changed him or fed him, she just wanted to hold him like an accessory. Carter is probably going to retire soon so he can focus all of his energy on pushing Paris to work more so he doesn't have to. Even with him being home all the time this season he still had the nanny feeding the baby and changing him...whats the point of being parents if you arent going to do any of the hard parts that make you a parent!? Her two kids are going to be raised fully by nannies. Its already happening. That is so sad and i dont like it at all. Im sure the reason she feels so insecure about being a mom is because shes not doing any of the mom parts, she holds him ...thats it. He mind as well belong to someone else and she is just there to play with him snd hold him after his real mom (the nanny) has changed his diaper and fed him.
