No my Aunt Nana married a guy who had two kids and she cares about her step kids like her own children since you couldn't have kids because she was overweight

Every single child deserves love and affection

I'm glad the young man stood up to his parents ... family business or not . He showed them he is nobody's fool as he refused to be manipulated for anyone .

Man this guy was badass and had class! He didn't need to shout or be rude to his dad in return, he just dropped the pen turned his back and walked out silently at them. And when his gf forgave his parents he forgave them too.

And he picked up the drawing first to boot. He showed he values what her child gives him, even if it's just a simple drawing instead of money. Bet his parents never valued his childhood drawings.

In the end, the son could show his parents what the true love is.. The family is the most wonderful thing

NO especially when they are WRONG; the son is a grow man and can make his own decisions. I understand parents want the best for their children but, they cannot NOT control or threaten their children into submitting to their choice! All the actors where GREAT and everyone owned their parts. Their was so much emotion in their acting, I felt it. BRAVO to the son that stood his ground and did not bow to his parents misguided thinking. The ending was soooooooooooo BEAUTIFUL and touching!

Grown up man can make his own decision ; no qustion , but at HIS OWN home, not at his parent's. In fact, the parents have the right not to give him a penny if they chose so!. The parent has no obligation to hire his/her children, even if they are hired, the kids have no special previllege. Simillerly, the kids have no obligation to work for their parents either, they can quit and work elsewhere. In most alwestern countries, when you turn 18, you are your own.

This is so shocking. They judged her before they get to know her, then trying to bully her and their son. Thank God he was man enough to walk out on them. Now they realize they may lose their son they quickly come to their senses.

The same my mom and stepdad did to Nakia. They misjudged him because he was living in a dangerous neighborhood in Miami Gardens, and worst of all, they called him a loser! I have had it with people judging him like that.

These stories never fail in touching me.... that was moving. Glad they came to their senses.

What Derek had for Kate is actually true love as he got ready to give up his everything just to be with his love and the best part was that his parents understood and respected their worthy son's decision at the end 🥏

The son is really a wonderful human being ,love it how he stood up to his parents and was respectful in doing so...glad they came off their high horse and took their noses out of the sky and saw what was in front of them...they were not the ones that taught their son good morals..

Awww I love how this ended!!! So glad the parents came around. That little boy is so sweet!!!

The fiancee has adopted son, but her future in-laws are too discriminatory towards them, let alone save some face for their Son. He will be very mad at his parents and they will be begging for forgiveness , but it would be too late!!!

"Derek, if you don't sign this contract, I'll destroy you. I'll ruin you, I'll make sure nobody hires you ever, anywhere" A parent with that logic and ultimatum is no parent at all.

Because it came from the guy's heart. The little chipmunk toy represents her son. The ring represents her. So they guy, is showing he wants to be apart of both their lives. So the idea, came naturally for him. No flashy surprises, just genuine/heartwarming.

Question: Can't Derek EASILY have a relationship with Katie and Meady while ALSO running his father's business?

This was actually a little hard to watch. The parents were so disgusting to me,....and yet, I realize that that are many people who are just like them, in all walks of life (and people that would behave even worse).. I am glad that the young man stood up for himself and for his future family. I am also glad that the parents apologized (although there is a little voice in my head that is saying "keep an eye on them"). I am most pleased that they tried to shield the boy from hearing what was being said....although, children often are aware of what is going on, even if they don't say anything. This was a touching piece.

I really don't get this, she is a doctor, a pediatric cardiac specialist, she's not a waitress or a housekeeper. She is a Specialist, she would make good money, probably more than the dad and the boyfriend and no hospital is going to fire a specialist because some rich woman wants her gone. Doctors are too hard to find nowadays. I don't understand how they don't think that a doctor isn't good enough for their son, any parent would be thrilled that their child is with a doctor? I don't get it?
