How real, genuine, and down to earth are these two? I have giggled, agreed, and questioned, but, most of all, I have loved every second of this and your other podcasts. I'd really, REALLY love to see Shirlie on the show to hear HER views from her perspective. Please, make this happen 🙏🏻 Oh yes, after my own father relentlessly beat us, sometimes for no apparent reason - I made the decision to NEVER raise my hand to my children. I have two (boy/girl, both grown up), and I've stuck to that pledge. Yes, it was more time-consuming, but I'm so happy. Love to all ❤❤❤❤

My 32 year old son has accused me of not teaching him about money/finances but I didn't know myself because my parents/school didn't teach me! I agree that schools should teach more on the subject

I think it should be a mix of parents and schools. My parents taught the basics, my school had a branch of Barclays Bank in a small room. We were encouraged to save, shown how to write out cheques and we also had a tic shop so we were encouraged to only take out a small amount of money to get sweets with. We also did office studies and typing which also helped us out with the wider world. It all helped me as I am self employed and I have to sort my taxes out etc.

At 32 go be honest he is old enough to google what he wants to know and learn himself. In this day and age there is no excuse to not know as the internet is readily available. Lack of internet at home is not an excuse as the local library can answer your questions in the computer area.

Haven’t seen either of these two speak before but I quite enjoyed this podcast. Actually there was one time I’ve heard Martin speak on TV was on big brother when he told some lad off saying it’s ok to flash your arse at a woman but not the hole. This podcast was a moderately more edifying discussion than that scene. I think I remember reading the son has bouts of depression and I kept staring at that dark mark on his chest wondering if he couldn’t be bothered putting a clean one one because he was a bit depressed. I don’t half over think things. …aaaand this is why I have zero intent to ever be a parent. Might like some of the other episodes better.
