Parental Chromosomes Problems are not the cause of your miscarriage or stillbirth | Antai Hospital

Common misconception: Parental Chromosomes problems or abnormalities can cause a miscarriage. This is a widely spread misconception that has forced many couples to either go for divorce, surrogacy or adoption. Although you may have been diagnosed by your doctors for having this chromosomal abnormality, you most likely have a carrier mutation, the only inheritable type of chromosomal abnormality, which is also a variation of normal genes, both harmless and does nothing to cause a miscarriage.
There is another reason for your miscarriage and this requires proper and accurate diagnosis. The sooner you go for a systemic diagnosis, the sooner you can go for the appropriate treatments, and the sooner you can have a healthy pregnancy!

This is incorrect! If the parent has a balanced chromosomal translocation there is indeed in increased chance of the embryo having a chromosomal abnomality that leads to miscarriage. Please do not misinform people!

Thank you for correcting this misinformation. At age 20 to 30 years I had 5 miscarriages. After having tests I was told that I had abnormal chromosomes and this was the reason why I was having miscarriages. I was advised not to try for any more babies as the chances of me carrying a baby to full term were very slim also if I did carry to full term the baby would have many disabilities. This was in the 1970s. Abnormal chromosomes have not had any other effect on my health. I was quite shocked when I watched this video, giving false medical information is very wrong. Thanks again for commenting with the truth.

Recently we (Husband and wife) tested the Karyotyping test and found an anomaly of Husband's report. " Duplicate in long arm of one chromosome 9 is detected. 46, XY, dup(9), (q11-q12). Is there any solution ? Is there any treatment to gain a healthy child? I'm eagerly waiting for feedback.

Talk to a genetic counsulor. IVF with PGT might be an option for you.

This is wrong information. Very annoying. Just because he's wearing a white coat doesn't mean he knows what he's talking about.
