David Paravyan opens the game with 1.e4 and Gukesh responds back with the Caro Kann. As few moves are played White has a small advantage and then came the critical mistake by Gukesh. David sacrificed his exchange and completely outplayed his esteemed opponent. This happened at the 7th round of Qatar Masters 2023.

Magnificent preparation and understanding of the position by Paravyan. This one will be a theoretically important game in the Caro-Kann

Come on! Even Magnus & Nakamura are not at their best in this tournament! A 17 year old who climbs to India no.1 did not do so by sheer luck. A slump in form is not the end of the world for him. He is not afraid to experiment & take risks and that is what makes his games interesting and if he loses a few games on the way so be it!

If one is rational and not carried away by emotions, then this channel's wonderful coverage of chess gives us a fact check that Gukesh, though a good talent, is really not up there as claimed ad nauseam by Indian chess pundits.

Every comment you make is just to bring him down lmao. Losing a game to a 2600 even as a top player isn't unheard of, but you wouldn't understand that unless you had any understanding of how chess works beyond the beginner level which most of you viewers are at, but yet feel like you can judge a top 10 chess player after 1 loss. Plus, 7 months later and he's won the candidates, so clearly, you're wrong.
