I don't get how people don't get that "covers" do not always have to be exactly like the original. A different artist for one song will/should cause some differences to fit the artist's voice and creativity. To be honest, I can't see AmaLee doing the heavy rock version of this song. The lullaby style fits her voice very well.

I'm just going to say this once because too many people are having this misconception. The original lyrics make perfect sense as they are: Maybe there's an animal watching us and thinking that someday we will beat them down. People see this as a grammar issue when it's actually not. And the reason why they see it as a grammar issue is because they're looking at it from the incorrect perspective, too focused on "someday we will beat them down". Now let's review this again: Maybe there's an animal thinking that someday we (the humans) will beat them (the animals) down; *which does not have/need quotation marks*. The lyrics emphasize the dominance of mankind, NOT the rebellion of animals. Throughout the entire anime, it gives out messages emphasizing humans' dominance over animals and then the parasytes use this as their reasoning behind killing the humans since humans' intelligence is able to use animal species as cattle (survival of the -fittest- smartest). That is the reason why parasytes think that Shinichi and other humans' idea of justice is biased and illogical. Thank you for reading. If you agree, please like so people can understand the lyrics better as well as the major theme that the anime has been emphasizing, because it never mentioned anything about animals' rebellion against mankind. They (the animals) would NEVER think of such thing especially considering they're neither intelligent nor violent.

That line makes sense, but even if the whole song makes sense grammatically (which it doesn't), there is still no structure to most of the song. At one point they say a baby is born, and that is all there is on that subject. It needed to be redone in proper structured English

Dragmire800 it made alot of sense to me and i didn't see any problem with the grammar. guess im just the odd one out o.o the baby part is because a baby is what defines a human in the beginning but seriously i had no problem with the grammar or structure of the song. i would go as far to say as it sounded and read better then most songs on the radio.

So... this was my most listened to song on spotify for 2020 and I am still coming back and listening to this masterpiece of a cover again and again and AGAIN! It fits the anime so well and even without the context of the anime, it has such a deep meaning to it that it just draws me back in to listen some more. Thank you AmaLee for making this song!!

I can't describe how much I love this. The anime is amazing, and I already really enjoyed the opening. with that being said this cover takes an upbeat, intense song that represents the action and struggle within the show, and changes it into a heart wrenching piece that goes beyond the confines of the source material in the same way the meaning and lessons does for the show itself.

You took a heavy hardcore song and made it sound fucking beautiful.

I remember when I used to not like this version when it first came out because I was so used to hearing the metal and upbeat ones. It's only until last month and that I had watched the anime a little that I came back to this and realized it's beauty. What ever happened to when your covers were more like the original songs? Now all they are are slowed and toned down songs. Most being lullabies. Like this one and your Tokyo Ghoul's Unravel. I miss when your covers were actually like the original song. You did the best English version of them! :(

Well, for me I prefer it simply because I can't imagine her voice suddenly going screamo, lol. But apart from the screamo middle part, it would have been good to stick with the original. Unravel was kinda needlessly slow.

This is amazing it turned 30% of my ear into a parasyte this song is dispersed throughout my body. i can hear, see, and sense better than normal humans when i listen to this, and my physical abilities greatly exceed those of normal humans so now when i like this video it counts as 3 likes, thank you

I just barely realized this song is in the parasites point of view. "If we fall at least we fall together as one" the parasites take over humans, so you basically kill both. "Let me take your last breath" pretty self explanatory. Your last breath is when you die, and if someone takes it, that means they've killed you.

People complaining about lullaby versions really need to get over it. This version actually in my opinion works well with the tone of the anime. I would actually enjoy it if the next season would have her version as like a change in tone to symbolize How the main character changed both physically and mentally with his most impacting traumatic experience dealing with the parasites. The death of his mother.

Epsilon I don't like this version personally but it's a good original (not sure why i should get hate for disagreeing with her creation) I think the problem is she said it's the song "let me hear" when normally covers keeps the theme and soul meaning of the song she changed the meaning and theme. Dear Amanda Lee, when i first saw that this song was from Parasyte, i was skeptical because i dont really like the show, but when i heard this song it drove me to tears because of how beautiful it was. Every song release, you always blow my mind and drive me to tears. I understand the meaning behind each and every song you release. I cant wait to see what you have in store for the future and cant wait for you to drive me to tears again. I would love to meet you but sadly i cant afford Patreon, me being only 13. If i could get the opportunity to meet you via skype or google chat it would mean the world to me. Cant wait for more Gorgeous music!

+becky15243 I've never done a cover, but I'm pretty sure the hardest thing about them is touching up the instruments and sounds to fit your voice or the way you want the song to feel, when it's a song in another language is a different story, I'm pretty sure one of the harder parts of doing covers for foreign language songs is trying to find a good translation, and trying to make the words rhyme in english as they do in the other language, so picking out your lyrics carefully, but staying true to the source material.

OMG! This was freaking incredible! Amanda if you keep making awesome covers like this I am going to go broke from buying them all. Seriously!

This is the best cover i have listen of Let me hear, I can't even imagine that this version could exist when listeing to the original.

Its been years since the airing of Parasyte anime and I just accidentally listen to this version today and it was like love at first ❤ ghaad! This is BEAUTIFUL! 😭😭😭😭

this cover made me cry....so beautiful and more suited to those certain moments like when his mom died

Though im not the biggest fan of shifting tones in covers this would be perfect in an emotional fight scene in an episode. Would be so sick

I come back to this song everyday, this is my favorite anime, and by far my favorite cover for it.

the show parasyte is really important to me because during the time it came out a good friend of mine and I would watch episodes together and it wasn't short after that she passed in a car accident. hearing this is bittersweet, you did a damn good job putting the song in your own style but the feels hit me hard

This is a beautiful and inspirational version of the song. I often listen to the original to amp myself up to get stuff done. This version is like the cool down at the end of a workout... still feeling familiar... just not as intense and heading into the opposite direction. Seriously great job.
