I had a similar problem with a leaking capacitor the electrolyte soaked into the PCB and the board itself somehow became conductive, don't know how this happened but maybe the electrolyte dissolved copper which then leaked into to the surrounding board however no cleaning could get rid of it. I literally had to drill out the affected PCB and then wire in new components. Love your videos keep them coming.

I've heard of that happening on Adcom boards. I don't know what the electrolyte is, but apparently as you discovered once it soaks in like that your screwed. The solution you utilized is pretty much your only option. Thanks for the kind words about the videos, Dave!
