It is because he simply does not know how to utilize the media. He was a village simpleton taught by a blind guru. How much sophistication can you expect from such a person??. Hence he has utilized entire time in swara sadhana as his guru seva. More media savvy artistes tend to stagnate as media makes them think they have already achieved everything. Not so our Panditji. You may not hear him talk on social issues and stuff. But he can transport you to the divine realm once you lend your ears to him. I am sure his guru is proud of him while watching from heaven!!

In the last 5 years or so this Nectar voiced great has been noticed by connoisseurs and is a boon to listeners all over India, especially Kolkata , Delhi. Both Pt Jayateerth Mevundi and PT VK hail from Dharawad Karnataka and excel in Hindustani Classical ...

I have listened him first in 2006 at ITC SRA Kolkata ,what a mesmerising voice -felt that I am in 1950s!! Pt. Bhimsen Joshi,Ustad Abdul Karim ,Pt. D V Paluskar were reflected in his voice... and continued to listen him in concerts only and searched a lot of his recordings but unfortunately they were not available! Asked him directly at SRA HIS reply was very soft “ hae na bazar mein bahot sara”...I told him “ kanha hae Panditji!” and realised that he is above all such petty matters, He is the real “guru “ and worshipper

Tabla is successfuly spoiling the Bhajan listening experience.

Tabla volume is too much.. Regardless of pt. swapanji accompaniment must be feebile

Tabla maestro is best for solo performance. For sangat i dont think so.
