Paramin - "De Green Seasoning Capital"

Although herbs like celery, thyme, shadon beni and chives grow all over the island, it is safe to say that Paramin would be considered the Green Seasoning Capital of Trinidad & Tobago.
The terroir of Paramin is a signature feature of the village. Steep hills of rich soil are blanketed with fresh herbs that are enriched by the warm sun and caressed by the cool crisp air of the Northern Range.
Knowledge of the land and the conditions that have changed over the years is passed down through generations of families who have cultivated an intimate relationship with Paramin.
"Terroir (/tɛˈrwɑːr/, French: [tɛʁwaʁ]; from terre, "land") is a French term used to describe the environmental factors that affect a crop's phenotype, including unique environment contexts, farming practices and a crop's specific growth habitat. Collectively, these contextual characteristics are said to have a character; terroir also refers to this character." - Wikipedia

Absolutely loved this video. We take so much for granted, thanks for showcasing the hard work that farmers have to do to help feed our nation.

Eat, sleep, Garden, Repeat an inspiring reminder. Food insecurities are worldwide, climate change adds to the struggle, small islands are more vulnerable & should get support. President Biden announced an initiative to train more than 20,000 young people in skills crucial to combating climate change, such as installing solar panels, restoring coastal wetlands and retrofitting homes to be more energy-efficient. Blessing to those who cultivate the land and consistently bring food to markets 🙏🏿💜🙏🏿
