They made a full recovery and you can never tell they were in the accident afterwards. They were featured on the BBC and thanked the paramedics for the help they gave them!

@@ojcksn I saw a news article on the York press which said “Also freed from the car was the couples pet dog who was unscathed from the accident.” The couples names are Stephanie and Giles Bilton. They did suffer some serious injuries but made a full recovery.

I think they do, but it's at the very end of each episode. In the last couple of minutes they give a bit of info on what happened to each patient. Unless I'm thinking of another program?

Do UK fire engines particularly those apparently tasked for rescue seriously not carry chainsaws? That feels like a huge oversight, there are so many situations where firefighters might need to cut thick wood.

because her hands are tied because she can't move a 2 ton tree off him, nor can she access him, as she can do is assess him visibly and try to ensure that the patient is coherent and are able to answer questions, no matter how stupid, because if they go quite the outcome gets severe

Asking basic questions let's the medics asses how severe a head trauma is. It also helps to spot a patients condition deteriorating, if they suddenly can't answer anymore/ stop talking. + bonus feature, asking basic questioned helps with the patients anxiety.

To assess how responsive the patient is or is not; to monitor if the patients condition is deteriorating from a head injury, for example; to keep the patient alert and conscious; to reassure the patient..
