I get the feeling that Paralives is a lot more down to earth while Sims 4 is a lot more wacky and aspirational... Most people don't have the money or space for such things. It's not bad, if you're into that. I'm just looking forward to an updated life simulation that's a lot more relatable. I think Paralives is going to be super cute and cozy!

@@SimlikeitHot Of course there's comparing. And it IS justified because Sims 4 has a piano. And some people DO have a piano. Hell, my uncle had a baby grand in his house before he died. I had an organ at one point growing which is how I learned how to play. Now we have a standard keyboard you can get a Walmart. What's isn't justified is your complaining.

The animations are great and I'm glad it's not just mindlessly smashing keys at lower levels. It sounds like someone is trying to learn a song for the first time. Hopefully we're able to write songs and perform them as well!

@@augusto7681 Depends on the synth or the samples - midi can have awesome sound and modders could go wild - like you could have different sounds for different instruments, or they could get out of tune after a while. But it was more meant as a joke anyway. Of course midi would be quite nerdy.

Of course they are. They should switch to Godot. It would delay the development but would give this project a solid base for future development.

I like how the movements change depending on skill level. And the idea of placing things on the piano! My keyboard is also a storage space 😅

It seems you tried to motion capture (or whatever your technique is for animations) the acutal pieces, at least partial, which is awesome. You could also animate the right feet for the sustain pedal, maybe for the intermediate level or higher that would make it even more authentic.

At least for the very low one, it's definitely not motion capture. He plays the same note at different places on the piano lol.

I hope we get more instruments in paralives. Cello or like clarinet would just be so cool!!

As they consider to add a second instrument and to add a jamming feature before release, I would totally vote for cello as cello and piano is the best combo imho, much better than piano and drums or piano and guitar.

Oh my God I literally was in a school play last year where this song was literally part of the plot, it's VERY important near the end and it's basically like this.

THE WINDOW VIDEO! It has to be one of the things that drew more attention from people. Being able to rescale and just freely move them was so cool to see.

at the low level it sounds pretty good, I think they should add an effect as if they were confusing the keys or something to simulate that they still have trouble playing well.

I like it The only thing is low level skill needs to feel more Beginner with some mistakes and off-keys

The skill levels sound realistic! The low one definitely sounds like my practice😂👍🏻

The only thing I, as a piano player, would like to see is if in the first "plunking random notes" section, they could make the note correspond to the position on the keyboard where the finger is touching. It looks strange to have the finger hit a key higher up on the keyboard and have the sounding note be lower than what it should be.

I love the little decorations too, spexially the "cooking with food" book

This game keeps getting better! Also, how do you feel about the recent Unity news, and how may that affect the Paralives future development or management ?

that's too much work for a small amount of detail that may go unnoticed when playing around different areas of the game, not worth it.

I love how the position of the hands changes once the skill is no longer very low. A lot of new piano players use the tips of their fingers to press the keys instead of the pads, decreasing dexterity.

I like the small details like the red book on the piano -> "cooking with food" 😀

I wonder if they'll add in more than the basic instruments games usually have. I'd love for a Flute to be added in game and just more band class instruments (Ex: Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Saxophone, etc). Those are mainly finger/hand animations, the Trombone instrument and Percussion requires arm movement.

This has been going on for 4 years now, when it officially comes out it’ll be exciting to see how it plays out.

Anyone notice how the red book on the piano has an actual title? Must be a cookbook. It says "Cooking With Food". Sounds a little silly to imply that you can cook with anything BUT food, but I love the little details. Haha!

The fact that the animation mostly matches which keys are being played itches the happy spot in my brain

I love that you guys are adding instruments to the game! I'd hope to not only see different types of pianos, but also a variety of instruments, string instruments, wind instruments, drums, and perhaps the ability to jam together and potentially create a band? As a write myself, I have a suggestion for the writing skill: Please have all genres unlocked at the start. Yes, make it significantly more difficult to write a high-quality epic fantasy than a high-quality children’s book, but having to level up the writing skill to unlock more genres is too restricting for my liking, especially since I myself have already decided to be a sci-fi author despite my debut novel not being complete yet.

As a piano player I love this! I don’t know the entire functionality of this skill but it would be nice to see much simpler songs for the low level as it is not only about playing slow but the songs’ complexity level. Also, maybe add another level called impossible and add Rush E? 😂
