Paragliding Scott-e Electric Thermic Beamer

Almost noiselessly floating in the air like a bird, floating in the sky with as little energy as possible, in search of thermal ascent, in complete harmony with nature. This vision was the starting point for the development of the Scott-e, which uses Flytec's E-Drive propulsion system. Absolutely vibration-free, almost noiseless starting and flying without CO2 emissions.
Take off in the lowlands, on the outskirts on a meadow or on the beach and land again at the same place. Flying is always and almost everywhere possible. Neither mountain railway nor towage aid is needed, and thanks to the return flight of the electric propulsion system, landings and the organization of the return journey are a thing of the past. This not only saves you time and money, but also a lot of stress.
Use thermal hoses anywhere you have not been able to reach before. They extend the possible airspace many times over!
The brushless HPD 10 motors are absolutely maintenance-free. There are no engine parts that are subject to mechanical wear.
No petrol and oil odor during transport. After flying, there are no more hot engine parts where you constantly dirty your fingers or burns.
The complete drive system with propeller and batteries can be easily stored in the smallest space.
The rechargeable batteries can be recharged for about 1,000 charging cycles and therefore last a long time. A full charge (average value of 24 - 60 Ah) is about 0.60 EUR and is thus many times cheaper than the comparable amount of gasoline for internal combustion engines!

The problems with batteries and elec motor are weight, capacity and fire. Whats actually more clean is debatable. Big batteries and the like are worse for waste and often to produce. Some people have been duped into thinking complexity and "progress" are always such. The problem with gas engine is noise. Silence is golden but electric is still more supplemental to get you to thermal. Gas isn't going anywhere tomorrow.

This is a cool idea putting the electric motor in a paragliding harness I thought of this myself and happy to see it being done. By putting the electric motor in a paraglding harness you will have the best handling and weight shift capabilities for flying. Make a version that can fly for 1 to 2 hours and I will buy one for sure :) Electric is the future! Love It!

Fly High Paramotors Battery packs nowadays are good for 10 minutes of 15 kW Power, 20 kg weight of motor+battery. That 'll take a few years to get the power of the fuel motors

My thought exactly but even if I can only get a 15 minute climb (which is what I’d expect) I could fly from my property and get flat land thermals right here from home.

Beautiful design. Can easily be transported on a motorcycle/bicycle or even backpacking. If I might suggest an upgrade... I would create a kill switch in the advent that the throttle gets stuck. The loss of power should activate a breaking system or at least a centrifugal clutch to stop the rotors. This can be used if the lines are about to get into the propeller or just of you need to crash-land and don't want the throttle accidentally pressed. Ps any plans on marketing the system - I would definitely consider buying this. 👌🏼💪🏼💙

At very low RPM a perturbation would cause it to go off-center and create an enormous vibration. But at higher RPM it's going to rotate about the center of gravity, so it will automatically avoid vibration as long as the prop is reasonably well balanced.

Ikaro, ganz herzlichen Dank.

Imo its too unsafe with having no cage... also a shaft that long unsupported will have serious bending and twisting forces on it that I can see might lead to shaft failures at the flange... also... what about if you fall on your behind on a failed launch? At very least that shaft is likely to snap/shatter (if it is carbon fibre?).. and if still spinning at that moment could break bones and/or slice you wide open... or even the possibility of a prop blade hit the back of your head, potentially fatally. Not enough known about the design, materials used and with not being fluent in German.. Just too many questionable factors in that design to make people want to risk it.

+Asad I try: The phenomenon is only in the film (TV, cinema) and has to do with the frames per second at Videos. (usually 24 -60 frames per second). When for example a wheel rotates at a certain speed, shows the next frame, the spokes in a position which is back from the previous one piece, the wheel appears to rotate slowly backwards. In reality, you don't see the same spoke moving backwards, almost at the same spot the next spoke, pure coincidence. By the same effect wheels sometimes seem to stand still in the drive.
