I was looking for this in a while...awesome performance. Greg was ill and Aaron had to put the mantle of guitars alone. For the ones that dont know when Greg joined the band, back in the days, Aaron teached him metal riffs and so the unique style of PL was born.....Nick's sense of humor as ever made my day...aahahhah

I red in their bio book about this gig, they couldn’t hear each other (or themselves) at all, and they had no idea it was going to be such a big gig, they did their best under the circumstances I guess.. Nick is laughing at some point.

One Second From all the songs I think it's cool to listen to Don't Belong, Close Your Eyes, Accept the Pain, All You Leave Behind and Shine, since they don't play those anymore. Even if the performance is kinda shitty, especially on Close Your Eyes. Most of these songs are really vocals centered, so you really notice Nick's weak performance. I still love PL though, and wish to see them live someday. Fuck, I was ten at the time of this show, them and everything has changed so much.

Man I feel so sorry for the band here. It's one of the biggest shows they've ever played, it was professionally shot and televised, has some of the only pro-shot footage of their self-titled album and it was played at a historic place in Ukraine. I had no idea how big PL were in Europe until I saw this - a crowd that size is usually reserved for giant rockstars. Yet Greg couldn't make it, the equipment was bad, Nick looks and sounds more tired than I've ever seen him in my life and everything just seemed to go wrong. You can find bootleg footage of shows in the months before and after this event, and naturally the band sounded so much better. It's just a pity since this happened on such a large scale. It could have been Donington part 2. But that never stopped the band and they only continued to get better and better.

He sounds out of tune, maybe the monitoring was bad. The mix sounds distorted and horrible in general on this video although it seems to be professionally filmed. Nowdays you get cellphone videos with much higher soundquality.

Чистый вокал Холмса просто кошмарный. Уроки вокала ему бы не мешало взять, потому что невооружённым ухом слышно, что элементарной вокальной школы нет.

It was huge shit. According to the band, there was no monitor guy, no anything. and they were tired without sleep.

There are two posibilities of why it is. 1 Nick was really drunk. 2. The whole sound equipment and sound crew fucked up with stage monitoring and the whole technical side of the concert. Considering the fact that it was Ukraine both of these options are quite realistic to happened back then. And they lacked the lead guitar in this concert which only add to the overall bad aesthetique of the show.

@@endriu55 not only Nick's fault this time, he looks stone sober here (but i guess he had a few after this abomination). The whole band is out of synchro and tune at times, even worse without Greg. Fortunately, it all went much better for them since this gig.

Возможно, он просто себя не слышит в мониторах, вот и, как говорится, «даёт петуха». Вообще это чуть ли самый позорный их концерт. Играют без основного гитариста. Ну и вокал просто ужасный.

Так Ник Холмс, когда поёт чистым вокалом, всегда лажает. Петь он, видимо, не умеет. Я удивляюсь, почему он уроки вокала не возьмёт, как Хэтфилд в своё время после их длинющего тура в подержку альбома 91-го года (по словам того же Хэтфилда, после тура он был без голоса, поэтому понял, что нужно нанять "тренера" по вокалу. И это при том, что пел, в смысле попадания в ноты, он всегда хорошо в их биогрфической книге написано, что мать Хэтфилда была оперной певицей). Потому что, как по мне, быть участником группы с таким громким именем, какое у PARADISE LOST, надобоно бы и в плане владения своим "инструментом" соответствовать статусу. Тем более, что вокал - это всегда самое уязвимое место в звучании группы.

This show is often referenced as the worst in the band's career.

It wasn't his fault. I was there, and entire sound during concert was really terrible. As I heard, something was wrong with local equipment.
