Paphos is the ancient capital of Cyprus. The city, located in the western part of the island, retains the charm of ancient Cyprus. It is not too crowded here, as in Limassol, the city rather resembles a civilized village.
It is the fourth most populous and one of the most beautiful resort towns in Cyprus, located on the west coast of the island.
According to mythology, Paphos is the birthplace of the goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite.
Unlike other tourist centers in Cyprus, Paphos has a vibrant history dating back to antiquity. Paphos is mentioned in the Gospel. The apostle Paul, accompanied by the apostle Barnabas, came to the capital of Cyprus, the ancient city of Paph during the first pilgrimage journey.
Currently, Paphos has earned a reputation as the best Cypriot resort, both for a respectable holiday and for the number of attractions.
