I do think this is the new voice actor for Mario. But the Nostalgia Badge brings back all of the original sound track and noises. Oh and Mario use to do a salute 🫡. But it looked offensive in some countries so it was removed and switched with thumbs-up 👍.

After playing this game for some time. I have noticed this game got buffs and big nerfs. Like chapter 2. When the count down timer was on. In the original. All the enemies come back and a few more, to slow you down.
