They met when they were literally both teenagers with less than four years difference between them. It was worst that Cory was out partying with 26 year old Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Mark wasn't even legal drinking age.

They started dating (with her parent's permission) when she was 16 and him 20, and met at 19 and 15. They have less than four years difference between them. Of course it's weird when you make up hypothetical scenarios of them dating at 10 and 14. But why would you choose to even look at it that way when that didn't happen? And at that same token, looking at it from the perspective of their ages now (Cory being 32 and Mark 36) - there's literally nothing problematic in the slightest about that.
