Last year, I read an interview in which Jacoby talked about this song, and how it helped him find healing and closure with his father, and based on that detail alone, it became the song I was looking forward to the most. From Broken Home to No Apologies. My father and I did not have a great relationship growing up, but he and I got to talk for the first time in over eight years last August, and I felt so free afterwards. I broke the earth that day. It was /literally/ pouring rain outside during that conversation. I'm glad I have this now, as I reflect on that afternoon. He didn't have to say he's sorry, and neither did I. We didn't have to change the story, yet we both found change in the unchanging. Thank you, Papa Roach. 🤘🏻

😭well guys... i couldn't pass by😭😭😭😭 some sorry-s have to be told on their right times, in their right moments, because on their other places sorry-s are useless, are not healing, are not moving you to place where you understand the opposite side, where you might be understood by another side, are not decreasing your weakness and cruelty to tell such things, and finally there is might be no another chance to tell it, to hear it, to feel it, to change you all and things staying side by side.

Thank you so much guys!

I related to Broken Home so hard as a teenager. The home I've lived in since 2014 is the longest I've lived in one home for my entire 38 years of life, consecutively. I have mended my relationship with my father (who was an emotionally cut off workaholic) and we have a decent relationship now. My mother, on the other hand, is a much different story. She's a 56 year old addict who's still mentally a teenager. She has told me many times "I'm an addict. I'll always be an addict and anyone who can't deal with that doesn't need to be in my life." I don't know her current status of being clean because I haven't spoken to her since the event I'm about to mention. About 7 years ago, I let her live with me and my pre-teen children because she had lost her place and she wanted clean herself up. One of the stipulations of our agreement was that she had to stay clean. I own a business and had children living in the home. She was clean for about a year before I started noticing she was using again. Ultimately, it came down to an almost physical altercation (she had a fist raised at me, in my face, in front of my children. her boyfriend grabbed her wrist to restrain her and moved between us to back her away.) and had threatened to push me down the stairs, also in front of my children. When I got an emergency PFA against her (the only way to remove her quickly from my house for my own safety as well as that of my children) and the police came to escort her out, she was crying very hard and sounded confused as to why I would be doing this. I now believe that she was heavily under the influence of something and doesn't remember what happened, or she's just a very good actress. In my life, I have never known which is the truth with her. Now, 5 years and much emotional growth later, I miss my mother, my teens do too - to an extent, but we know how toxic she is to have around. I'm really struggling with how to mend that bond a little and keep barriers in place - if she's open to it and respectful of boundaries. I want a relationship with her again, she's my mother after all. I can't fix her. That's her responsibility. How does one accept these things, forgive for all the damage, and figure out what boundaries to put into place while mending a relationship like this? I'm truly looking for genuine advice on this. I have 2 teenagers who know what to expect from her now. I also have a toddler - whom I won't expose to her grandmother without boundaries in place first. I don't want the toddler going through the mistakes I made with the teenagers. I thought my mother had changed and she hadn't. I've now accepted that she most likely won't.

This song has a double meaning for myself. On one hand my relationship with my father is very distant and the other that I don't need to apologise to myself, that I'm a better father than he ever was.

A while ago I lost my uncle who was my dearest and closest best friend as me and my father didn't have the best relationship, he was taken from me at a young age a heart attack the main valve came straight away from the heart gone in seconds. I was meant to be there that morning but slept in until my mother recieved a phone call that changed my life forever. he had passed and for years I blamed myself that if I was there I could of done something but after hearing this it's like a message from him telling me you don't need to suffer anymore and you don't need to apologise for not being there because there was nothing anyone could do. Just remember the good times and hold on to them tightly. one love Papa Roach thank you 🤟

This hits me pretty hard with my relationship with my mom. I resented her for a long time for bringing an abusive man into our lives once she and my own dad split up. I was five. I still struggle with the results of that but my mom was just trying her hardest to make a life for us and just trusted the wrong people. She always puts pragmatism first and it was simply a bad situation. We've since put all that behind us and have the mother-daughter relationship I never thought I'd have.

I don’t think my dad realizes what he’s missing out on. But then again, his actions towards others has given him what he deserves. 3 concrete walls and some bars to keep him in. Here’s to you man, for giving me this weight to carry on my shoulders. For a life where everyone’s looking at me wondering if I’ll make the same mistakes as you. And now I fear my son will suffer those same feelings. No amount of apologies can make it right, and no amount of time served can grant you forgiveness. But in time I hope you learn to accept the damage you’ve done and live the rest of your life doing better for others and keeping your problems to yourself and nobody else. Seriously dude, I wish you well, never the best. - Your son, who you never cared to have.

I understand how you feel. I get it. It’s hard. I had an uncle who was like that too. He didn’t go to jail, though. He just passed away. Did a lot of damage to my family. But I still wish him the best. If we only wish well to others and not the best then they will get better but only a little bit. It’s better to always wish them the best so they can change to good, fully. Or not good but the best. The ones who did damage to others, let’s say they changed to good and became a better person, at least, they are fully happy and can move one with their lives. Now, I’m a Roman Catholic. As a Catholic I shouldn’t really wish well to people. I wish them the best. Now, that’s the real challenge some humans can’t really do. Doesn’t mean it’s impossible. I’ve been through that, too. My siblings go through that. Sometimes they only wish well to others. I wish them the best. Just saying that if you feel sad about your situation again, not saying to go to church right away or carry a bible under your armpit but to simply say “God, please help me with my sadness”. You’ve probably overcome that situation, I don’t know, but sometimes they come back. Just sometimes. Sorry for the long comment but that’s all I wanted to say 😊☺️. I’m praying you, myself and everyone in the world :)
