A lot of what you hear in the background is Rex, the bassist. He never gets the love he deserves but when Dime goes into his solos Rex will fill the background. He’s an underrated beast of a bass player.

My FAVORITE Pantera song and overall one of my favorites of all time across all genres. Nothing gets me pumped like this bad boy here! "Can't be the rest, let others waste my time Owning success is the bottom line" & "Pulling and punching the rest of duration No one can piss on this determination" - I start my day doing a grueling workout listening to this gem right here and then I'm ready to take on the world! 😁

This was the 1st album I was introduced to back in high school, then I found the 1st album CFH. After that, I was hooked...mom didn't care for them, lol. Here am I now, 46, still jamming to them amongst other metal bands'. I was a Roady for a few years and have worked with a few metal bands and bands "layer" their songs to also get those certain affects. When you, the fan/customer listen to the final product, you hear the effects.

pantera is the best, this is one of my fav songs! 5 minutes alone, rise, becoming, a new level, shedding skin, and sooooo many others are worth a listen. glad you enjoyed!

The 'layered' sound you hear behind/ under the fast picked notes/ runs, is the 'rhythm' guitar part. The fast runs is the 'lead/ solo' guitar part. Rhythm and lead/ solo parts are very standard in all rock/ metal music. It is akin to 'harmony' and 'melody' parts in an orchestra piece. Harmony = Rhythm and Melody = Lead/ Solo. :-)

That riff is one of my favorites, makes you want rip it up. Dime just had that superior feel and ability to come up with bad ass riffs and solos. Saw Pantera three times including the final tour and at 61 I still crank this and all the rest of the phenomenal music these 4 amazing dudes put out. After seeing the original band I cant bring myself to seeing them without Dime and Vinnie. If you experienced them live you know what Im talking about. ✝️ RIP DIME 🎸 AND 🥁 VINNIE CFH FOREVER!!!

I'd forgotten how awesome this song is, I hope you watch more from them, they're music has a real groove to it that packs a punch, I remember seeing their song This Love in the polls before, definitely worth checking out as are off the top of my head Five Minutes Alone, Walk, I'm Broken, which are all bangers

This was the song that my little brother introduced me to this, my all time favorite band from the 90s, Pantera...my 1A to my 1B, TOOL....

Im from Jersey and saw the tribute to Pantera. I can’t believe you missed them!!!!!! This is probably the only time you’ll see them together. Im fortunate have to have seen them when I was 14 in Asbury Park Convention Hall my 18 y/o sister got me and saw them at two other handful of shows including the tribute show. FUCK!! I would have gotten out and walked to MetLife Stadium to even hear them!

You really need to listen to this on the track cause the end of this song and the beginning of ‘A New Level’ are seem less and make both songs blend beautifully…:)

It's funny because for one, I really wanted to understand and notice what you were talking about. Alot of people not use to metal rock or guitar stuff have a hard time explaining and using terms....u explained it super well and I totally understood what u were noticing and I'm very surprised it caught your attention like it did. My analysis, just as a fan, I believe is obvious in the lyrics: Shitty people want to bring other people down to their level. He overcame the vitriol of lesser mentalities and is stronger for it. Life can get you down, but never accept defeat. Sometimes you have to dig real deep in your soul to overcome adversity. Anger can be a useful tool for your mental health if channeled properly and used for motivation.

Pantera and Rage Against the Machine were my favorites as a teen.

Btw, as a long time fan, he says "channel my head to productive." Not "hate." Edit: I know Im right. The lyrics were on the CD cover. Listen.

its alright im just a Major Pantera fan

Phil Anselmo (vocals) said he wrote the opening riff (Phil played guitar on his Superjoint Ritual records later on) and then gave it to Dimebag Darrell (guitar) who added his flair and his own riffs... and 'Mouth for war' came together in 1992 - the opening song for the album 'Vulgar display of power'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥 I remember hearing about Pantera and getting 'Vulgar display of power' on tape around '93 and that record just blew my mind... there was nothing like it out there. Pantera took the thrash metal influences and fused it w/ a groove and power that put them at the head of the heavy metal pack. Even as grunge and alternative rock took over the 90's, Pantera were literally crushing it as an extreme metal band in a decade that was hostile to heavy metal. Even Metallica decided to change their sound and image to the 90's rock trends... Pantera refused to conform and got heavier w/ each record.

Don't be delusional like all these people. Pantera is loooooooooong GONE! 2 parts DO NOT MAKE A WHOLE. Nostalgia is a powerful drug and it has people deluding and or outright lying to themselves. I'm sure it's enjoyable. It is NOT Pantera. - REAL Pantera fan since '87.

Can we not have lyrics and video? Most of us know the lyrics but at first we all need lyrics rock metal it’s a reaction video how are we supposed to get 100% reaction when your unsure the subject or meaning your really reacting to the instruments, it’s a automatic no when people say they’re a reaction channel but don’t care enough to print out a copy look them up before recording, bringing in subscribers takes some effort.

At the beginning of the channel, I used to look up what songs were about before listening but then people told me it's not a genuine reaction if I go in already knowing what the song is about. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I typically talk about the lyrics/meaning more after the first listen. But I can understand if that's not your style.
