Savvas is a really good fighter. His Muaythai style is beautiful and technical. His heart is like Thai, I can fight anyone, anytime. His goal is to improve himself and becomes a better version of himself. I’m sure he will go far. :)

Savvas was beaten by a technically superior opponent, but right from the onset Savvas already looked like he lost mentally. He looked uncertain, scared almost.

He looked like he was forced onto the circle when he didn't want to fight almost. Savvas and Panpayak didn't train to fight each other and we see here Panpayak is levels above Savvas. Panpayak is putting on pressure and not on his backfoot and waited to counter like he did before, similar to how Rodtang did to Jacob smith. There's no excuse here.

I think Jacob Smith would low diff Savvas if you ask me. Usually Rodtang can let his opponent hit him and Rodtang shakes it off like its nothing. However, Rodtang came out technical and more defensive than ever before, that has to be saying Jacob Smith weapons are a real deal and can't be messed with, even Rodtang doesn't want to risk getting hit clean by Jacob. I was watching Rodtang interview in Thai and he mentioned nothing about becoming technical because of DJ fight (that was ground game stuff and not stand up fighting that got him the loss), he is the same Rodtang, but he trained and came out technical specifically for Jacob. Edit: Rodtang and Jacob both broke their hands punching eachother's head. Both were nowhere getting knocked out, just external cuts and bleeding.

Seems like too many guys dont get Panpayak is levels above rodtang(who is amazing,dont get me wrong).3 times in a row fighter of the year and countless stadium belts...Superlek too is way above Rodtang friends,dont listen the hype too much😊

Mwa styles are just way different , superlek is more of a muay femeu stylist . (Technician) Where rodtang is pure fire as in muat mat more of a puncher. And styles make fights that's it All of them superlek panpayak rodtang are the top of the top

Bc casuals dont actually know much about the muay thai world. They think it's just kickboxing with elbows when its much deeper than that. In muay thai, Rodtang style is sort of frowned upon bc it's too aggressive

How is rodtang style frowned upon in muay thai? Hes a Muay Mat, one of the most exciting thai fighters in history. He only wants to win fights by KO, not points, since punches don’t score much in thailand, kicks and knees do most of the scoring. Hes a massive star in Thailand.

@@Twistedbullsh1t No, he's not a MASSIVE star in Thailand. He's a B level fighter. He gets hit too often, aggression is not favourable in MT (control and ease is), MT isnt just point based, ONE Championship MT is very different from traditional stadium MT, etc. Rodtang only looks good bc he's facing non-elite, relatively non-complex talent on ONE.

Savas was stopped by Naito. He does not have the level of Panpayak, Rodtang or superlek. I think it could be an attractive match against hagerty or Naito again, but firstly he will need to recover physically and mentally. Panpayak performance was awesome, can't wait to see with superlek 8

Panpayak Jitmuangnon is one of my favorites, love his style.

Refused to give his urine sample so he was not allowed to weigh in.

the announcers and everybody making excuses this wasn't gonna be a good fight vs pan or rod and we all knew it. neither of them practiced for each other specifically. I will say the alternate being a southpaw did make a difference but that's about it.

I watched the last series of Rodtang vs Smith and Savvas vs Naseri in May. So excited for them to match up in this. They showed dominance in the last series. I became a fan of both Rodtang and Savvas. I am a fan of the sport but to me this should have been defaulted to a win for Savvas.

Panpayak is 2x better than Rodtang. Savvas has the potential to beat Rodtang but not panpayak. Panpayak has beaten Kaonar (4 times), Seksan, Pet-U-Tong, Superlek (5 times), Rodlek, Sam-A (2 times)… Superlek would easily beat Rodtang and Kaonar made Rodtang look like an amateur. Sam-A would easily beat him as well (I actually think Sam-A or Superlek can KO Rodtang. Rodtang has been KOd before). Panpayak can beat Tawanchai or Rodtang. That’s how good panpayak is and also why people are angry at ONE for not letting panpayak fight more and just keeping him in alternate bouts.

People complaining that Savvas train for Rodtang and so wasn't prepared to face Panpayak... 🤣😂. What about Panpayak ? Panpayak trained for a Kyrgyz no name opponent and ended up fighting Savvas ( who's 4 better than that Kyrgyz no name guy ). Savvas got schooled in round 1 and got crushed in round 2 by Panpayak for the very SIMPLE reason that Panpayak is a way greater and way better fighter than Savvas. Savvas is a kid next to Panpayak. Both Savvas and Panpayak knew at the same time that they were gonna fight each other, none of them had any training advantage they were even. I'd even say that Savvas was more trained than Panpayak as Savvas knew he was gonna fight Rodtang all the way on the 20th of May 2022 ( after Savvas defeated Amir Naseri ) so Savvas knew for almost 100 days that he was gonna fight someone ( Rodtang ). Panpayak didn't know that he was fighting someone for almost 100 days.

I agree with most of what you're saying... Though I believe Panpayak had it easier because he came in very dangerous not having prepared for any style in particular.. On the pther hand Savvas prepared for a short cone forward orthodox fighter.. Hence why he got knocked out by a lead right hook. That punch wouldn't of been there if it were Rodtang standing across from him. You could see from his spastic victory dance that they barely believed they won themselves.. That shows the mindset he went into the fight with.. Savvas should not have taken the fight.. That was way too dangerous

Both fighters are physically matched. It all comes down to skills and mental state. Panpayak is present, active, and hungry. Michael is absent, passive, and confused. At this level of Muay Thai, if a fighter can't cope with the setbacks, then he or she is obviously doesn't belong to the elite league. I like Michael a lot, and I thought that he would do great against the elites. However, he consistantly falters against the top dogs. Michael was not mentally present in this fight. In R1, he independently threw a few punches and kicks . His best moment was launching one lazy combination. He presented zero threat to his opponent. Penpayak jumped on the opportunity and took Michael seriously. Like a good rock song, it all starts with a simple but brillian riff. For Penpayak, it was Teep legs (destabilize opponent), teep body ( keep opponent at bay) , lelf or/and right hook followed by a strong lelf kick to the head. During the first clinch, Michael executed a perfect sweept but suddenly realized that penpayak was one step ahead. During the second clinch, Michael again unsuccessfully executed a perfect neck locking for a throw down. One can admire Michael offense and penpayak defense, he baited Michael and allowed him to initiate the neck locking, but at the cruicial moment, he easily but forcefully drived Michael to the ground (This whole sequence of offense/ defense only last 1 second 2:41 to 2:42). Michael went by the book, Penpaya went by the feel. This is the difference between the two. He could feel Penpayak's strenght, knee and elbow skills. Michael went to sleep (lelf head kick) by the 4th combo of Penpayak's riff in early R2: Strong lelf kick, double right hook, and lelf head kick. Michael was lost in this fight that doesn't do him justice. I hope that he takes sometime off and would stage a comeback. He needs support now more than ever.
