They have a recorded version for The Suicide Squad soundtrack, but the live version is actually way better than the recorded version, which is quite rare in my opinion.

Just as an aside, he started by saying ‘A song by one of my favorite gay human beings’ because the song they played directly beforehand was a song of Panic’s that serves as an LGBTQ anthem to celebrate the community, so he used that to segue into BoRap.

I've only heard a couple of panic! songs..I had no idea the frontman could sing like that..loved his voice, especially the nuances and imperfections so that was the star in this cover for me. I can't believe you rated it a little higher than I would but that's only because the guitars after the "ohh yeah oh yeah" and right before "nothing really matters...to me" at the end of the song is arguably my favorite guitar phrase in any song anywhere, and although this guitar player held his own, that part was kind of botched a little..not saying I could do better, just saying'

That kid developed into possibly one of the best vocalists of that era. His mix and his musical intuition are ridiculous. Granted, he's super pop and super theatrical and that might not work for everyone, but the dude deserved more love than he got for his sheer talent.

I think covers depend. If they are placed on an original record, studio recorded, as a new release, etc., I'd expect exactly what you say. But if you're at a show because you're already a huge fan of the band, to then hear a completely unexpected rendition of a classic like this in the middle of a set of original music will light it off, period. Hearing that favorite voice, guitar, whatever, sing a classic is nuts for people. As far as I know, this was only ever done live, not studio recorded on an album. I personally knew them plenty, but never heard this cover by them. So it was definitely exciting to hear as a live performance.

Now you should see an original song by Panic :) It’s hard to recommend one song but you might be interested to know that they were initially a four piece band with the guitarist writing most of the music and all the lyrics for the first 2 albums. Now the singer is the only remaining original member hence the big change in sound. Death of a Bachelor is a good song to see Brendons singing ability and songwriting ability. Definitely check out I write sins not tragedies it’s their breakout song as the original band

Small correction to this comment. Ryan, the original guitarist, wrote almost all the lyrics on the first 2 albums but not most of the music.

Subscribed! There is a recorded version of this, but I do prefer the live version. I went to see panic on their viva las vengeance tour and unfortunately they didn’t perform this. I’m kind of sad I’ll never get to see it, as panic is over now. But they have some great original music as well. The front man, Brendon Urie was the last remaining original member and for the last 3 albums led the way musically. The Death of a Bachelor album is probably one of my favorites. I would recommend listening to Emporer’s New Clothes or Victorious. It’s definitely a more pop record (less emo), but that guy’s vocals are insane. Also the video for Emporer’s New Clothes is crazy as he’s basically sent to hell and turns into a demon/ the devil.

Not really a Panic fan anymore since their second bassist left (the fella giving some beautiful backing vocals here!), but trust, this isn't even the best live performance they did of this song! The one that was the most popular before this one was definitely peak and it was fantastic when I saw them live too (with way more grit, less oversinging and steadier, more powerful notes), this just happens to be the one they professionally recorded haha! If Brendon Urie did really anything right in his career as Panic, it sure as hell was doing this song justice.

Hi, Panic! at the Disco fan here if you couldn't tell by my name. I apologize in advance because I just know I will give a lot of information. Panic! had been covering Bohemian for a couple years in concert already and then was asked to do a cover of it for the Suicide Squad soundtrack in 2016. For the recording for the soundtrack Brendon, the singer, was given the original vocal stems by Queen and re-recorded the song. Here is the soundtrack version: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fKBq0ayNcpe6oKQ.html For the soundtrack cover Brendon of course did vocals and also played the bass, piano, drums and some of the guitar. Kenny (the guitarist in this video,, no longer with the band) also did some guitar and background vocals, in addition Butch Walker did some background vocals and produced the cover. Just like the Queen version has multiple overdubs of vocal tracks so does the Panic! version. I think there are over 70 vocal layers. Obviously 4 people on stage cannot sing that many layers so that is why they use the track in spots but you are absolutely correct in that the other band members are singing over the track in those areas. They are not singing over the Queen version though but the Panic! recorded track. If you go back in your video starting at about 12:28 you can see a couple brief shots of Dan Pawlovich who is the drummer singing. (The bassist and the guitarist in this video are no longer in the band) This concert recording is on the live album that they did from the Death Of a Bachelor tour in 2017 and that album is called All My Friends We're Glorious and all 21 songs from that tour have videos here on KZread in a playlist. This video that you reacted to is from that playlist. In March of 2018 Panic!'s new bassist Nicole Row started with the band and in October the new guitarist Mike Naran started. Also in October Panic!'s Bohemian cover was filmed at the first concert when they were starting the Australia leg of their Pray for the Wicked Tour. It was shown on the American Music Awards for a tribute to Queen. It was the first performance with the new guitarist Mike and he did amazing. Here is that video if you are interested to watch for yourself: kzread.info/dash/bejne/la2Xj8NmdLKxp84.html Panic! has been posted about multiple times by the main Queen social media accounts and by Bryan May and Roger Taylor approving of and loving their covers. You should check out the new album Viva Las Vengeance. It was recorded to tape and is amazing. Tons of Queen and other 60's-80's rock influence. I have a feeling you would really enjoy the album. This was recently in an interview with Brian May: Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco has famously performed “Bohemian Rhapsody” in a live setting. They reached out to you, via email, about how close their new songs “Star Spangled Banger” and “God Killed Rock and Roll” were to Queen, and how deep your influence was to their band. Can you tell us about that correspondence? I can only tell you I admire those guys. They have great talent, and it is a fantastic compliment to us that they should include us as an influence and absorb us into their own oeuvre. It makes me very happy. There’s a similar feeling with the Foo Fighters. That is the ultimate compliment that a band should want to play our material, absorb it and make something new out of it. Anyway, sorry for the really long comment. I really enjoyed your video. I check a couple times a week to see if there are any new Panic! reactions and yours came up. I enjoyed it and if you do more I will definitely check them out.

not to be conceited and have a superiority complex (which is exactly what i’m gonna do bc i cant stop watching your videos, and i also had a patd phase which was from 6th-9th grade), you should hear me out and watch nearly witches live from las vegas 2011. it’s an original song of theirs (at that time it was theirs bc patd was an actual band)- brendon also shows good showmanship and stage presence in it imo- and you seem to like that (from what i’ve observed from your muse reactions).

as far as I know he isn't using autotune, as he doesn't need it. He is a great vocalist, having covered ac/dc and frank sinatra really well! I think he was sick this performance and it was the 20th song in the setlist.

Honestly, I believe his vibratto comes.in naturally on it's own, it's not something he's doing purposely (I could be wrong). I believe when he was younger, he wanted to sing like Gwen Sefani and practiced her vibratto so much, that it just became a natural part of his singing.
