PANGKOR ISLAND | பங்கோர் தீவு | Road Trip Adventure | TRAVEL VLOG | IN TAMIL | PERAK | MALAYSIA
We started the road trip with our friends and their family on Saturday morning at 7 am. The day before, we filled our car's tank, checked the air pressure, and embarked on a journey taking the toll route from Brickfields in Kuala Lumpur, to Pangkor Island. Along the way, we were treated to a beautiful sunrise. After a few hours of driving, we made a stop at a roadside restaurant where my friend prepared a delicious South Indian breakfast of idli and chutney. My husband bought me roti canai with dhal and Teh o Limau panas, a delightful Malaysian dish that happens to be my favorite.
i spotted the 'shame plant' near where we parked our car for breakfast. It was fascinating to interact with this unique plant, something I hadn't encountered in a city for over a decade. After our break, we continued our journey, with lush palm trees lining both sides of the road and picturesque rice fields. We enjoyed some delicious tangerines and engaged in a friendly chat with my friend and adorable son along the way.
During this scenic road trip, we had the opportunity to witness some stunning places right from the comfort of our car. To reach Pangkor Island, we learned that taking a ferry or jetty from either Marina Island or Lumut Station is the way to go. We decided to park our car near one of these stations, and fortunately, Lumut offered covered parking. After parking, we bought our ferry tickets for the 1 pm departure. While waiting for the ferry, we explored the surroundings near Lumut Station, where we found numerous shops and local vendors selling delicious food and exciting itinerary packages like island hopping and snorkeling. Additionally, we discovered that it's possible to book bikes or cars for rent from this area to use once we reach Pangkor Island, and we even had the option to book hotel rooms right there in Lumut.
The ferry operates on a scheduled timetable, and at 1 pm, all passengers lined up in an organized queue. The ferry ride from Lumut to Pangkor takes approximately 45 minutes, with each ticket assigned a specific seat number. There are 30 seats upstairs and 80 seats on both the right and left sides of the ferry. Traveling by ferry is a truly enjoyable experience, especially when you're with friends and family. The view from the ferry window is absolutely spectacular, and after 45 minutes, we arrived at Pangkor Island.
[ Pangkor Island is a haven for relaxation, nature lovers, and those seeking a peaceful getaway. With its serene beaches, diverse marine life, and cultural attractions, it's a destination that caters to a wide range of interests and is often considered one of Malaysia's hidden gems. Whether you're looking to unwind on the beach, explore the island's history, or connect with nature, Pangkor Island has something to offer every traveler ]
Stay tuned!
