panellogy 508 - a tintin magazine from 1949
Ойын-сауық
the european magazines have been very important for the European comicscene since the late 1930s when the first Spirou was published.
Spirou is still ongoing while its greatest rival, the Tintin-magazine "only" has been published from 1946 to 1988.

For me seeing this magazine is like watching a relic from past that explains well how life was back then. With comics we live now times of plenty with Omnibus, Deluxe, Absolute, Artist etc Editions. Seeing how comics fans once got only one page per week must be hard to grasp for many. I feel actually a little happy - and nostalgic - having lived also in times of less. It’s like the 80’s. You can try to explain it but if you weren’t there no amount of describing will truly make you understand the hair styles and clothes. 😅
Amazed at the price! Sweet. Wonderful to have magazines from so long ago that you can flip through.

these European comics are usually very easy to get, there are just a few exceptions... the ones I bought from 50, 60 or more than 70 years ago were all in the price range from 2 up to 10 Euros. It's actually hard to just leave it to a few examples and not go wild and "collect them all" :)

So great to see another video from you. Thanks so much for sharing!
really like the red plane comic
Vibora is gone, I think, I think Spain is done with magazines. In the French-speaking world, besides Spirou, Pif Gadget is still going on. So is the more adult-oriented Fluide Glacial. We haven't had comic magazines in Portugal since 2001. Devir tried doing a Portuguese edition of the then new Métal Hurlant relaunch, as well as a title called Comix, with themed issues, and a mix of American and European material.

thanks... the more I look for examples from different countries the more I get the impression that this is worthy of a serious exploration/thesis/book... whatever. It's fascinating, yesterday I got a comic magazine from Turkey from 1960, comics transcend borders!
it's crazy to see how famous Tintin is.

@@earlgrey862 you're right. On the channel FtLoC I am amazed how many times Tintin has been mentioned, and by so many different nationalities. I've just read that Tintin has been translated in more than 100 languages. That's amazing that Tintin has been part of the youth of so many kids in so many countries.
One week per page? Its standard for webcomics 😉 But a great purchase
