Im not sure if others would agree but Nat malhar brings out the essence of this bandish more than Gaud Malhar. Maybe it's because the bandish is playful and so is the lilt of Nat ang in Nat malhar. But this rendition is the most beautiful rendition of this bandish.
Aha! What a singer he was! Thanks many for uploading this gem...
वाह क्या बात हैं. Pl. Bring some more of him.
I often wonder about the correct lyrics of this bandish. As we can notice two distinctly different versions rendered by various singers. Also, most of the renditions are claimed to be that of Raga Gaud Malhar (and not Raga Nat Malhar). If you listen to Ustad Amir Khan Saheb’s Gaud Malhar (kzread.info/dash/bejne/Ynquo9KFob3Zc8Y.html ) then, the lyrics goes as follows : जिसकी ऐसी बात हो कहे मौज पिया संग बने और करमका हाथ हो मय भी हो मीना भी हो और मौसम ए बरसात हो उसका क्या केहना है यारो जिसका दिलबर साथ हो What a great rendering..especially the BolAlaaps In fact, towards the start of the rendering @01:05, you can also hear Ustadji providing a brief introduction about the composer of this bandish “Miya Mouj” from Delhi Gharana. Quite interestingly @04:32, Ustadji have passed a remark “अब तो गवैय्योंको पुराने खयालभी याद नही” which indicates that he well might have heard the different version of this bandish. Now, this particular rendation from Pt. Dinkarji Kaikini would have been taught to him by his guru Pt. S N Ratanjankarji and he would have received it from his Guru Pt. Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhandeji. The reason I am stating these details is - there have been quite a few instances wherein few singers have (deliberately) passed on incorrect versions of the bandish to Pt. Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhandeji when he was on spree to collect bandishes from Pandits and Ustads of various Gharanas. Another version of this bandish is rendered by veteran singer and musicologist PT. Satyashilji Deshapnde in his music album “Kahen”. satyasheel.bandcamp.com/track/kisko-aisi-baat-kahen. Its In-Lay card contains the lyrics of this bandish as follows : किसको ऐसी बात कहे करे मौज पिया संग जो अपने उसपर करम परवर दिगार मय भी हो, मीना भी हो मौसम ए बरसात हो उसका यारो क्या कहना जिसका दिल बरसात (दिलबर साथ) हो It would be great to get some further insight from the experts on the difference in the lyrics of the bandish.

I once met Ustads Mazhar Ali and Jawad Ali Khan, and they introduced Kisko Aisi Baat as a Gaud Malhar bandish of their Gharana. I told them I’d heard it sung by an Agra Gharana singer - they expressed surprise at the fact that other gharanas also had the bandish (this was in the ‘90s, well before the advent of YT). I’m hearing the Nat Malhar version here for the first time.
